Your theater's audio sucks then. You could feel every piece of wood splinter, glass shatter, every punch hit, every bone crack, in every fight scene, especially the one with Hinx on the train.

The opening with Bond falling out of the airplane without a parachute is more thrilling and Bond-like than anything in the entirety of SPECTRE.
Except it isn't the worst Bond movie ever because it isn't even remotely made bad. It isn't Moonraker dumb, Ocotopussy boring, TWINE terrible, or even DAD bad. The opening scene alone makes it better than all three of those. Just because you did not enjoy it does not qualify it as a bad movie because that implies it was poorly shot, poorly acted, poorly edited, poorly paced, etc. And no matter what you say about the later three, it was beautifully shot. That is a fact.

I saw the film in Imax and I can also say I could feel every hit in that film. The audio is amazing in this film.

What I bolded is exactly my thoughts except its better written then what i would have said.

Hey everybody, Spectre is famous now.

Spectre is now in the Guinness World Records for the largest stunt explosion in a film.

A huge blast featured in the new James Bond film has been named the largest movie stunt explosion ever – earning it a Guinness World Record.

Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux – who plays the MI6 agent and Madeleine Swann respectively in the 24th Bond film, Spectre – both appear in the sequence before the explosion, which was shot in Erfoud, Morocco.

The single-take scene, which used 8.418 litres of fuel and 33kg of explosives, was overlooked by the film’s Oscar-winning special effects and miniature effects supervisor Chris Corbould.

Director Sam Mendes said: “All one shot. Come up the stairs, some dialogue, largest explosion in the history of movies, exit frame, cut.”

Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said: “It is absolutely tremendous that the Guinness World Records have recognised Chris Corbould’s incredible work in Spectre in which he created the largest explosion ever in film history.”

It was a glorious explosion.

I was watching part of Skyfall on tv the other day, I think the first half is so solid I forgot about how weak it gets. Half the shots look like they were in the dark knight, this was easier to ignore in the theatre the first time. I might put spectre above this now on second thought.

The explosion in that scene was awesome but I don't really understand why it happened. Maybe I missed something...

One thing which I often wonder about Bond films, is that why don't we see more action with the likes of 008 or 003 etc? I know we got a brief scene with 006 at the start of Goldeneye, but I would really like to see say 004 007 and 009 take on a bad guy, have one of them be killed off if need be and have it be an "emotional event" for Bond or whatever. Why is Bond always taking on these guys single handed?

[Show spoiler]I wouldn't be surprised if it was some sort of Fail safe measure. The building was compromised so they took it out so Bond couldn't lead anyone else there to get Spectre's secrets.
Not sure if that's really spoiler material but didn't want to upset anyone.

009 does feature in the PTS of Octopussy. Bond later mentions his death when killing Mishka (or is it Grishka?)

I know I'm late to the game, but I listened to all of the title songs of the Bond movie a few days ago, and this movie's song sounds a lot like TWINE's song with Michael Jackson's Earth Song. (I know others heard the latter.) I had never heard TWINE song till a few days ago. I personally really liked it a lot better than WotW for SPECTRE. And it's probably one of the better 007 songs.

On a side note, "Skyfall" also took some of the best parts used in "You Know My Name". They just the notes down a little.

Was it a chain reaction from that gas tank(or whatever that thing was) that Bond shot? I guess it wasn't THAT big of an explosion if it didn't take out Waltz. I wonder if the cat survived.

And yet I would watch all of those repeatedly before sitting through SPECTRE again. And I didn't say it was a bad movie... it's a bad BOND movie. It's technically well made, it just doesn't have a brain in its head, an honest plot or motivations, or the soul of James Bond. It is, like the card that opens the movie tells us, Dead Inside.

Finally saw this yesterday. I really enjoyed Casino Royale and Skyfall. This, I don't even know what this was. There was something about it that was just so off.

The opening tracking shot was pretty cool but once you get to the helicopter it all falls apart into ridiculousness.

As the owner of essentially a C-X16 I was most excited about the DB10 vs C-X75 car chase. How could they have two of the coolest movie cars in recent memory and end up with a chase as boring and uninspired as that? Such a wasted opportunity. But that became the theme. Spectre is a string of wasted opportunities.

The middle act dragged like no other. Even the third act dragged until the finale which showed the first sign of intensity from JB which then disappeared as fast as it came.

I'm definitely done with Craig as Bond. Time for another refresh.

2.5/5 (rounded to 3 in the poll.)

Yes... But my interpretation when it was over was tantamount to saying SPECTRE, as a Bond movie, was a zombie- It moves around, but it's dead inside.

Have you ever read Fleming's novels?
