It's all media hype. RG3 was media hype too, but that only lasted a year. Luck could throw 7 INTs in a game and it would never be his fault.



And Idk about everyone saying Peyton was done. Maybe some NFL fans like ourselves said it, but analysts wouldn't think about saying he's done. Living in TN also makes things different. He's worshipped here. Nobody wants to believe he's done.

I'm not a Luck apologist but the guy has seemingly been hurt for most of the season so far and yet he still proved his mettle by toughing it out. TY Hilton is the best playmaker on that offense followed by Fleener...Andre Johnson is washed up and Gore has clearly lost a few steps.

There's a difference between excuses and reasons; the reason the guy has played poorly throughout the majority of the season is due to lingering injuries. Honestly it sounds like you have an ax to grind with the guy perhaps because he's in your division?

Nope, not just NFL fans were saying Peyton was done. I specifically recall it being discussed on NFLN a few times and it was Deion that was saying it IIRC (or possibly Irvin). I know the guy can do no wrong in TN but perhaps some folks up there need to remove their orange-colored glasses.

Rg3 issues are mental the guys afraid to take hits and hes definitely afraid to step into his throws, its almost as if hes afraid hes going to wreck his ACL again.

The only difference between an excuse and a reason is if you like/believe in the player being talked about. If you do, it's a reason. If you don't, it's an excuse.

A reason is more a statement of fact whereas an excuse often plays to emotion in the hopes of being excused.

My lady and I had a rough week as well. Not 3 picks rough, but still rough! Thankfully, the majority of our league did too so we didn't lose many places in the total standings.

I'm in a loser league suicide pool and we went from 69 people remaining to 12. Nearly everyone picked the Texans, Lions (who I picked), or Giants to lose. If the Giants had won one person would have been remaining who correctly picked the Titans and he would have won over $15,000 because the pool pays out 5 places but he would have gotten the entire pot since there wouldn't have been anyone in 2nd-5th place.

Aldon Smith has been suspended for 1 year

NFL suspended Raiders OLB Aldon Smith one year for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports it's for Smith's involvement in an "August 28 incident." Smith was released by the 49ers after an early-August DUI. The August 28 incident is unknown. What's not unknown is Smith's pattern of destructive off-the-field behavior. He has put himself and many others in danger with repeated alcohol-related incidents. A year away from the field is going to be extremely challenging for the 26-year-old pass rusher. He won't gain automatic reinstatement upon the ban's end. Unless he's turned his life around, it's possible Smith never plays another NFL snap. If there's one positive, it that's the Raiders plan to "stick with" Smith through his suspension, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
