Huh.

To those buying Star Wars toys, are these Black Series the best ones to go right now?

There are a number of Japanese lines which are vastly superior, though more expensive: Bandai's S.H. Figuarts, Kaiyodo's Revoltech, Medicom's MAFEX.

I'm not a collector or anything, I just get what I like, and I'm very happy with the Black Series.

Unfortunately, those arent in Amazon. Im not from US, and most online stores only ship in US. Amazon is my go to store.

yeah posted a pic a few pages back (EDIT: here), it's really nice. The ones for the older characters also look good, but as far as TFA goes I only got Kylo so far, and the BB-8 Funko Pop (my first). Had Phasma but I returned it, just don't wanna spend too much at the moment.

Lucas "let them" go their way? Interesting choice of words.

I have several of the 6 inch black series from the OT and TFA. Plus Darth Maul from the prequels who will probably be the only one I get from those films. I do have Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren Hot Toys preordered.

This just aired during the Homeland ad break, followed by a Natalie Portman Dior advert. I'm going to miss Padmé.

If I'm not mistaken, and I'm typically really good at placing a name with a voice, I'd bet my bottom dollar that Sean Bean's voice narrating the end.

Maybe, maybe not. They're probably not going to unlock the keys to the DCPs until a few hours before release. This pisses off the best theatres because they like to do a test run, but I think that's what's going to happen. Maybe some people get their keys a day or two before and that leaks, but it's going to very close to official release date/time.

Idiots on both sides, IMO.
I agree completely. It would take a lunatic to go to such lengths to see this film in private. Not to mention who would throw that much money away on a one time viewing? Wtf? Help the needy, fool.

BB-8: The first Star Wars character ever to be affected by the Falcon's insane banks, turns, and rollovers.

I guess Leia was wearing magnetic boots during the astroid field chase.

Wasn't R2 and 3po both knocked around in Empire? Maybe it's a droid thing. Or maybe their artificial gravity took a hit.

And I think it's completely the opposite. It's more enjoyable to see a popcorn movie or a comedy with an engaged audience.

Back in the day when the movies were originally released, it was fantastic seeing the Star Wars films in the much larger theaters of the day with a much larger audience. I saw the original Star Wars at the Loews Astor Plaza in NYC, which seated 1500. I saw the rest of the OT at the old Loew's Orpheum which seated 1000 in the downstairs theater and 600 in the upstairs theater.

This guy who bought all the seats did so in a 200+ seat theater. A theater of that small size probably has a relatively small screen. What a waste... If he were buying out the theater so that he could see it with only his friends and relatives, that's one thing. But if he bought it out so he could sit there alone, I think that's not only incredibly sad (unless he has some kind of contagious disease), but an incredible waste of money. He should have donated that $2K to Doctors Without Borders or some other charity where it would have done some real good. Or given away the seats to local poor kids.

You sound like my mom. Every time I travel -- concert, hockey game, vacation, whatever -- she worries that "something" is going to happen to me. Car wreck, mugged, terrorists, you name it. The woman literally worries herself sick over absolutely nothing. The only time I've ever actually been injured, anywhere, ever? At work, five minutes from my house. Quit being afraid and buy a ticket.

Who knows, he might be very wealthy & Does donate money or whatever, to local charities already, & just is a Huge SW Fan who wanted to see it alone, or more likely, with a FEW Select Friends he knows who will be quiet, not Text, and act like Adults
[Show spoiler](unlike many who sadly go to theaters & think they're in their living room at home; talking, texting, acting like idiots, etc)
.

but you're right - for that amount of money, it's prob NOT gonna be in 3D, and will be in a fairly Small theater.

For this movie, I'm taking my nephew to the 10:10pm show opening night, in a DOLBY ATMOS Theater where EVERY SEAT is a Fully Reclining Leather chair, & the screen is HUGE (see below)
