Started to watch, but I stopped after about 20 seconds. I want everything to be a surprise. BTW, props to Disney for not releasing the soundtrack CD until the 18th. That way there's no "Qui-Gon's Noble End" type spoiler that gets out there before the film's release.

CDs are now released on Friday globally as of this July.

Can't wait to get the Target Exclusive CD (I preordered the CD in late October on target.com).

Yeah, but they could've dropped this thing a week or two in advance if they wanted to. They're pretty much holding everything back aside from toys until the 18th.

Can't believe it's almost here. I'm bringing my wife to see it. It will be the first time she will see me cry.

The look of LOTR with its use of CGI and other effects look GOOD. The look of Prequels with its use of CGI and other effects look BAD.

I dont understand why that's so hard to understand.

He's legally not allowed to say anything. We asked "if it's good post an R2 meme. If bad, Jar Jar." He posted R2. He ranks it in the top three films after ANH and Empire if I remember correctly too, but that's all he's allowed to say, and even that is pushing it.

I dont understand why that's so hard to understand.
Whether something looks GOOD or BAD is completely subjective, not really objective. In other words, it is a matter of opinion.

I absolutely LOVED how everything looked in the prequels. George hadn't moved forward any sooner because the things he wanted to show - the other planets, Coruscant, the majesty of the Old Republic - couldn't be brought to life with conventional special effects. It is his vision, his universe, his creation - who wouldn't want to know what he thought that period of AGFFA should look like?

By contrast, everything we've seen so far of TFA looks thoroughly conventional: a planet with a desert. A planet with trees and snow, yadda, yadda, yadda. In other words, BORING. Kylo Ren is a pale imitation of Darth Vader. BB-8 is a slight variation on beloved R2. Captain Phasma is just a storm trooper with a little silver paint job. The x-wings and TIE fighters and the Millennium Falcon look almost exactly the same as they did 30 years ago. Again, BORING.

They are mostly just bringing back the old stuff, with some minor changes. Nothing really to get excited about, imho.

But, again, the masses will eat it up, guaranteed, because Disney knows how to do good marketing and they bought a popular franchise. Their $4 billion investment will yield many more billions of dollars in profits and do wonders for their share price. Mark my words.
