Hi Chris!

I never mentioned it as a negative, only pointed out that those are deeper pocketed companies, and why. If there was a tinge of frustration in my comment, well, that's down to my individual feelings as a human being, and is not representative of MM. Apologies for that.

That said, we must still agree to disagree on the subject.

I didn't even realize this was available to pre-order yet, and now it's sold out... well that sucks (I don't even like the other cover to be honest). Guess this isn't a release I was meant to have (unfortunately, I was never sent a pre-order notification from blu-ray.com).

You'll still be able to get the regular release when it comes out.

You don't get pre-order notifications from blu-ray.com for releases that are sold on bigcartel, screen archives entertainment etc. etc.

I've only received pre-order notifications from blu-ray.com for releases that are sold on Amazon.

Also, it's the disc that counts, and you can still pre-order the standard release.

So I'm looking at disc specs again and this is just the integral/complete cut of the film. So I could get rid of the 2nd Media Blasters DVD release, but if I want the shorter/censored U.S. 'Schizoid' cut, I'd still keep the original Media Blasters DVD (the 2-disc one with the VHS-sourced Italian cut).

I hope the SD sourced 2 minutes are color corrected to match the rest and most importantly, free of interlacing/conversion/combing artifacts...

Per the site: "After all the pre-orders have been mailed out the final copies will be put back up for sale. Thanks for your support, and for making this release a great success!"

I thought the limited edition was only two batches? I.E. copy numbers 1-500 then copies numbered 501-999

To clear up any confusion ...

There are 999 numbered copies. I put 500 up for sale to begin with. That sold out rapidly so I put another 300 up. Those are now sold out.

So we have 199 copies remaining (minus contributor copies, etc) that will be put back up for sale early in January after I have mailed the first 800 copies out. Which is going to be quite the task!

And there is also the retail version, which is unlimited. It has a spiffy cover that some like more than either cover on the LE. It's up for pre-order now at Diabolik, Amazon,etc.

So - not sold out! No need for hand-wringing. Plenty of opportunities to get this one.

Yeah, we were hoping to have them shipped out by December 18th, the ostensible "release date". But that ain't gonna happen. So better to put it off a week and spare possible headaches on both sides of the transaction.

Thanks. It is mind blowing how many times this very thing gets messed up. Look at the releases of 'Four Flies on Grey Velvet' for example. Or when combing/interlacing artifacts appear on the SD footage that was upscaled to 1080p to piece into the rest of the picture, yet you see none of these issues on the DVD playback upscaled by the player to a 1080p set.

I abhor Facebook (and will never have an account there), which seems to be the go-to place for a lot of information, so I always enjoy getting the MM scoop here.
