I'm a pretty casual Star Wars fan, but I just got back from the midnight showing and I really loved it, and most people around me seemed to as well. I'll definitely be seeing it again as soon as I can, and it looked amazing in IMAX, even though there's only the one sequence that takes advantage of the full screen. The one they do have looks amazing though, talk about immersive.

[Show spoiler]Looks like Ford got his wish and they killed Han off, it was expected during his confrontation with his son, but damn, it was still awful to watch him get run through with a lightsaber. It was kind of inevitable though being that the wise mentor always has to die in these movies, and it's going to have a lasting impact for sure.

I loved that Rey actually beat Kylo Ren, the force is so strong in her that she was able to take his trained ass down. When he offered to train her at the end I actually thought she might turn because how much of a twist would that be? I almost wish she had, but I'm still happy with what actually happened.

And they're really dragging the Luke thing out, you don't see him until the last shot and he didn't even say anything. It'll drive the fans nuts, lol.

Ya, I'd have to be on my death bed to miss this lol. First time breaking a limb, first time having surgery too. Surgery was last Friday and the first couple days were pretty rough, but I don't have any pain at all now.

So without skimming this thread out of fear of spoilers, is it safe to say the initial reviews are glowing? I was looking forward to reading James Berardinelli's take on it, but dude recently revised his ROTJ review to 2 stars(out of 4) while bumping ROTS to 4 stars. I agree with him about 80% of the time, but apparently we deviate on Star Wars.

BTW, I had free passes to a screening of Carol tomorrow at 7PM. I just got an e-mail saying it had been rescheduled to next Monday. I guess they were afraid the theater would be empty with everyone seeing Star Wars(including me).

I'm also looking forward to Berardinelli's review, which he already tweeted he'd be posting sometime today. Since we lost Roger Ebert, Berardinelli is the critic with whom I seem to agree the most. He's my "go to" guy when I'm wondering if a certain film is worth my time.
