Definately check out A-gon, but don't forget about the power of spreading the word around to your friends and family about your new found interest and intention. I'll bet you any money that someone knows someone else who has a turntable lying around they've done nothing with for years. You might be able to get one for free!

However, having said that, I would save up a few more dollars and get a new one. One to consider is the entry-level Pro-ject Turntable. It comes complete with a cartridge. (You may have to change the cartridge on a used one and you would then almost be at the price of a new table anyway).

You're probably going to get quite a bit of advice and opinion to this thread as there are several vinyl lovers on this forum. They are very passionate about their love for vinyl and you'll be able to learn a lot and get tremendous insights.
