Question Can I use this for UHD & HDCP 2.2? ( knowledgeable techies).

I have a 2014 4K tv with only one 10 bit hdcp 2.2 HDMI input. Can I buy something like this to plug both my direct tv ( to get 4K) and UHD blu ray player into, then the single male end into my one hdcp 2.2 input?

https://www.google.com/search?q=2+in...x4pSK-fAlyM%3A

With no electricity to simply be able to select whether I want Direct tv 4K or UHD Blu-Ray as the source? I assume it's a possibility since there was nothing said about the hdmi cable needing to be hdcp 2.2 compliant, only the inputs on both ends of the devices. Will this work?

Your logic makes sense to me. As long as that cable is rated for 1.4 ("high speed" is the nomenclature used, I believe) you should be good to go. Does your TV truly have a full bandwidth HDMI 2.0 port with HDCP 2.2?

No, that is just a splitter. What you need is a switcher, similar to this one. Please note, it is HDMI 2.0, have not looked to see if any HDMI 2.0a standalone switchers are available.

This one says that it supports HDCP 2.2, but it doesn't say it supports HDMI 2.0, so that's slightly odd.

If the device needs HDCP 2.2 you'll need a switcher that supports that as well (as far as I know).

Can't believe there's not a simple, no electricity, no remote, no button, splitter that would allow whichever device is powered on to take control of the HDMI 2.0 HDCP 2.2-10bit input.
