These things are not related. Flayer Mantles are not exotics.
Additionally, you can't waste your threes on that strike because the flayers are not ultras. Luck has nothing to do with it.

You won't have any more luck in omnigul because she is also not an ultra.

I've had much better luck getting a drop killing Omnigul than I've had on the flayers...just sayin'

Well using 3 of Coins on either Omnigul or the Flayers won't give you increased drops in exotics. Even if you think you're more lucky on Omnigul.

If you can wait until tonight, I will try with you. I don't have one, either. But it is a true PITA. Many failed attempts with 315+ teams.

I'll probably be on until about 11:30pm UK time. I know my mate. Did it this morning with two 300+ and he was only a 290. I'm at 287 right now but hopefully I'll get to 290 after I log in today.

I get what you're saying but just by observation I've HAD more luck with Omnigul than the flayers, nothing more.

You have consumed 0 threes of coins and received 0 exotics from killing the flayers and omnigul. Any exotic you received was the nightfall reward and had nothing to do with three of coins.

It's different when I've killed Omnigul and I see a yellow engram drop, right? It'd be different if I see an exotic after the mission is over.

You'll be off by the time I get home more than likely. I think you should try for it with those guys who already did it.

its different because its impossible and didn't happen. go test it, use a three of coins and the buff will still be on screen after you kill her because she's not an ultra.

This is true, Omnigul is not an ultra and she will not consume a three of coin.

When I use my Hunter, I typically make around 100 orbs of light for my teammates during this strike.

Picked up the Cocytus SR4 from the Gunsmith.
He has a roll on it with Triple Tap & Firefly.
Infused one to 310 and it's pretty beastly. Replaced my Hung Jury.
