United Kingdom Deathgasm Zavvi Exclusive

Just had an email advertising this:

£13.99. It has 88% on Rotten Tomatoes so might be worth a punt - not seen it myself...

*EDIT* Just seen the trailer and it looks great!

Wow, it's only a 15?! It's a huge amount of fun, if I were 14, this would be the best movie ever. Loads of gore and gross-out humour with lashing of metal on the soundtrack.

It certainly reads like an '18' on the BBFC site:

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/deathgasm-2015

I think they can expect a few complaints about this one, although the fact that it's not a major cinema release probably saved it. Even if it is a fantastical comedy, the presence of all the violence, gore and the very strong language to boot, seems like a lot to get away with at '15'.

Kinda' reminds me of a Canadian horror/comedy tv show, can't remember what it was called just now though.

This movie is great and has amazing gore and nice nodes to early Peter Jackson movies. It's not a slasher though.

So happy to see this is getting a UK release!

Any news about the release though? I don't know how true they are, but I heard rumours claiming the Zavvi exclusive release of Clown was both cropped and censored. I hope that isn't true and won't be true of this.

One of my favorites of 2015. It's such a fun horror/comedy flick.

I'll go for the German Mediabook though

Todd and the Book of Pure Evil.

The guy in the trailer with the Peter Criss make-up on, classy. Ordered

I watched this last night, it was amusing but not great. Definitely had some laugh out loud moments but not nearly enough. Not something i'd revisit any time soon but worth one watch at least.

Germany at their usual lark.

Personally, I went with the Aussie release. Has all the US extras, minus the teaser trailer and that's replaced by a 22 minute interview with the director.

I'm pretty sure that the Zavvi exclusive of We Are Still Here was a direct port of the US MPI release, extras and all. As the US release of Deathgasm is also through MPI, I'm guessing we'll get the same treatment again, and the couple of reviews for that version on here are definitely good.

No, StudioCanal's UK BD release wasn't "a direct port of the US MPI release"; however, it retained the audio commentary track, and the Behind the Scenes featurette from the US MPI release.

Well, I didn't say I was 100% so I'm happy to accept being wrong. However, that release did look pretty great if you ask me.

On another note, there doesn't seem to be a page on here for this release and I don't actually know how to submit a page or a request for one. I'm not just being blind, am I?

I believe it's the Australian release that is cropped, not Zavvi's.

Haha no worries, I have the Zavvi release so I had to do some investigating because that was the first I had heard of this!
