I wasn't as impressed as I was expecting to be. The opening has terrible black levels. The transfer is also featuring a decent amount of DNR the imports were devoid of.

wow, are you referring to the UK version? i see one review referring to that, but mostly A+ reviews. does import have no black level or DNR? is it worth the $$?

I was referring to the US release with my comments. There has also been numerous comparison shots of the US release being compared to the import Blu versions. The DNR is quite evident.
