this chart is very useful, use it to determine how far away you need to be from your tv to get the full benefit from it.

it is just another resolution that will not see the light of day for many eons to come! at least not in the regular tv we can buy from stores today. 1080p will be the defacto standard or a long, long time!

There are a couple of computer monitors that are 1600 x 2560 pixels. A 1.78 BD watched on those would be 1440 x 2560. A 2.37 BD would be 1080 x 2560.

Remember that table is the farthest away you can see the diference. You can see the difference sitting closer than that.

i can tell the difference between a 40 inch 720 and 1080 instantly.
