I think this would be the upcoming France BD edition then, look at the similar dates (December 2).

I am cautiously optimistic. I remain cautious only because Tori's Official site only lists/links to the DVD and CD versions; no mention of a BD anywhere. Strange .

The Amazon France links have become clarified with prices and dates into the DVD and Blu-ray respectively. The link in post 21 above ^ is the Blu-ray one.
Updated the OP post with this info.
So pre-orders from France and the UK.

If there's a blu-ray release, it must have been filmed.

Looks like www.undented.com has now confirmed a Region B Blu Ray release for this live release... I guess the big question is it really a REGION B or is it just stating that on the Amazon.com UK website?

Amazon is usually wrong - Hopefully we can find out. If it is region Free I will def. IMPORT that one in DEC.

Come to think of it, you could say the same thing about Sarah McLachlan and Kate Bush.

The exception seems to be Björk. But then again she's a mother since she was 20!

I would have to disagree with Sarah. She's really pretty steady with her (limited) output. You always know what we're going to get with her. maybe now that she's getting a divorce, you'll get more of what you're looking for?

Btw...i'll pass your comments along when I meet her next week.

Thanks HEP! However, I think I'll wait a bit as any of the MONTREAUX releases (and most Concert BD's) can be had for under $20. Just picked up ZZ TOP: LIve in Texas for $18.99 at HMV, and LEGENDS: Live At Montreaux 1997 for $19.99 as well. Got the ROY ORBISON: Black and White Nights for $14.99 at Costco and JEWEL: The Essential Live Songbook for $17.99 from Amazon.ca.

Wrong, it was videotaped, which makes this blu-ray release a bit of an anomaly. It was recorded 17 and 18 years ago on video, is it simply upscaled to 1080 for the blu-ray release? I know they weren't using HD video cameras in 1991.

Anyone?

I could probably make a few phone calls and find out exactly how the two shows were recorded, what type of equipment was used. However, I must say that I am unsure I understand the argument here: have you seen Roy Orbison - Black & White Nights?

I bought the standard DVD of this but sold it recently since I want the blu ray. I can't say if I could tell if it were filmed on some sort of digital tape format or video format or just film.

It didn't look like videotaped productions like concerts I've owned on laserdisc. I would guess however it was shot they took care of their materials. Tori and her mixers cleaned up the recordings themselves for the release.

At any rate it should be a decent release for the HD audio

This would make a fab Xmas pressie for the misses. Picture quality looks great for 91 (though the Searchers looks better than half the current releases, lol)!!!

Couple of questions, is this definitely region free and any news on a UK release date??

Because it's very simple to tell the difference between film and tape. So I'm curious as to how this was recorded back in 1991 if it's now being presented in hi-def. My question is still this: was this simply unconverted or was it shot on some early HD equipment? What HD cameras were even around that long ago? I didn't think there were any, but I may be wrong.

Surely if it's 35mm then HD is not an issue, the source footage is taken and output at higher resolution than required for Video or DVD.
If I'm not mistaken don't a lot of production houses already have things like this backed up already, something like Godfather etc??

Also, any heads up on the questions? I only just realized this is in the UK thread but I notice the link is for Amazon.com???
