Heard Pacman Jones on The Dan Patrick Show this morning and there was this exchange?

Pacman: Burfict barely hit Antonio Brown.
Dan Patrick: So you think Brown was acting?
Pacman: Yeah, he deserves a Grammy for that performance.

Pacman is the best.

That guy is an absolute disgrace to the game of football as well as a deplorable human being, but man I love listening to him make a mockery of the English language.

Rex Ryan was probably the only guy in the nfl that would hire his brother lol, rob only ruined the dallas defense then went to n.o and ruined theirs. Good luck to any bills fans that are on here.

Exactly. The luster has worn off the Ryan boys a bit (mostly Rob but Rex is hanging on by a thread).

When your crowning achievement for the year is beating the Buffalo Bills, your season was all smoke and mirrors.
Obviously I have no horse in this race, but the current GM for Dallas has, pretty much, fielded a team that has been largely irrelevant for about two decades. Just check NFL standings to confirm that.
Now using just this season as a snapshot, due to a total lack of QB depth Dallas was not good. Meanwhile the Washington GM not only made some nice picks, a couple key free agent acquisitions AND rid the team of the RG3 embarrassment, he's got in a pretty good cap situation. This is what sets a team up for a good run.
Sorry Jerry is a fantastic businessman, but a horrible GM. McCloughan, meanwhile created a juggernaut in Seattle, almost made one in San Fran and is well on his way to doing it again in Washington. As long as he stays sober, this guy can be off-the-charts good.

I still have to question why Porter was on the field in that situation? He's the Outside LB coach. Does he have some medical background that I'm not aware of? Is there some rule stating who can go on the field when a player is injured?
I wonder if this will be looked at during the off season?
It really seemed to me that he went into a clear exploding fire for one reason: t draw a flag! Mission accomplished.
Don't get me wrong, I don't even know why Jones is still even allowed in the league, but he might actually have a small case here.

So when does baseball season start?

That was an ugly game and the Rockets are not looking good. Need to wait for baseball for any hope with my teams.

Totally agree, Porter should not have been on the field. As a former PIT player, he understands the rivalry and probably wanted a piece of the current one for himself. The refs lost control of that game very early on and it just devolved from there.

Jerry is a fantastic owner but he might be the worst GM in the NFL. That said, Will McClay seems to have his ear quite a bit when it comes to GM decisions. Hoping Will is the main reason they seem to be finally coming around on the idea of not only finding a better back-up QB for Romo but also finding his heir apparent. Goff, Lynch, Wentz, Cook, I actually prefer the last two but I want one of them with our pick. Hope we either take a franchise player there or trade back into the teens to pick up another second. The more high picks we have, the better chance we have to fill some gaping holes on this roster.

I'm sure everyone is aware that never before in NFL history have all the road teams won in the first round of the playoffs.

I was thinking about an even less likely, however possible event that could happen (though very unlikely) for the first time this year could be a 5th and 6th seed conference championship game.

In the NFC if the Seahawks can upset the Panthers (remotely possible) and the Packers can upset the Cardinals (highly unlikely, but possible), we'd then have a 5th seed versus 6th seed in the conference championships.

Same thing with the AFC, if the Steelers can beat the Broncos (good chance) and the Chiefs can upset the Patriots (also highly unlikely, but possible), we'd have an AFC 5th seed versus 6th seed in the conference championships.

I think that scenario in either conference would be pretty cool.

Training Staff, Team Doctors and the Head Coach are the only ones allowed on the field when a player is injured. Porter had no business being out there and as a result, he could be fined.

This isn't the first time something shady happened involving a Steelers coach:

Not true according to this:

"With an injury that appears to be more serious you will see players and other staff out on the field at times to check on player.
The referees gave Porter the benefit of the doubt because there was real concern for Brown."

If I was being filmed when we drafted Pacman, it would've made for a great reaction video.

F that guy. Still a loser.

Yep. Brown faked a concussion! Makes sense!

Still not sure HOW he went in the 1st round, guy was never mentally right for the NFL despite having all world talent.

Fair enough, but Porter's no dummy, he most likely knew exactly what he was doing. Anyway, when you had such a volatile game from the get-go, why didn't the refs try to keep all personnel aside from the medical staff off the field? It's been proven time and time again that during rivalry games like this (especially those involving big hits like the one Brown took), jawing back and forth and/or pushing and shoving are bound to happen when tempers are flaring and emotions are running high.

There's some leeway for coaches to go check on a player, not instigate the opposing team. It should've been offsetting penalties. Joey Porter was awarded the freaking game ball in the locker room.

Here's also Mike Munchak yanking Reggie Nelson's hair earlier in the game.

The media is acting like the Steelers are saints when in reality it was a deplorable night for both teams, the Steelers are just smarter about it. Marvin Lewis can't control his players? Tomlin can't control his coaches. I'll be rooting for any team in these playoffs except the Steelers.

I think we have a good chance of seeing this happen more often. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I believe the league overvalues division winners. I get that divisions exist for rivalry and cheaper travel options, but to be an automatic #4 seed despite having a worse record than the #5/6 seed just doesn't make sense. Not to mention that lower record gets another home game.
I think the NFL should consider a division winner is guaranteed a playoff spot, and that's it. Let the records speak for themselves.
For example: it's not Kansas City's fault they played in a stronger division AND had two more wins than Houston yet had to play on the road.
I don't follow the NBA but I understand they have adopted this approach for their playoff seedings. Hopefully the NFL pays attention.

Super Bowl against the Peehawks, key calls go the Squealers' way -
Long TD run by fast Willie where there were not one, not two but three blatant holds by the OL
4th and goal, Rottenberger on the QB keeper gets stopped short of the goal line but sticks it over after he's tackled and they rule it as a TD.
I'm sure there are more but those are the two that come to mind.
