Default New Bond movie w/o famous lines???

did you all hear about the new bond movie coming out in november quantum of solace, its not going to have some of the famous bond lines such as

"Bond, James Bond"

or

"shaken, not stirred"

they are saying that they are getting away from the typical bond lines and making them a different kind of bond movie. i heard it on the radio this morning on the way to work. anyone else hear this?

pretty strange as they had those lines in casino royale

yeah i heard about that. i think it's a good idea. i bet they're trying to cut down on the cheese. it's like the newer corvettes not having flip up headlights, it's a bad thing for some but a good thing for most.

I liked the twist they put on the famous "shaken not stirred" line in Casino Royale ("Do I look like I give a damn?!"), it was perhaps the best line in the movie, I thought. I'll remain optimistic since the last flick was well done.

Default Doubt they put this much thought into it...

But the truth is, there may be a reason why James Bond would care. A shaken Martini is much more diluted than a stirred Martini. Shaking the Martini causes the ice in the mixer to break up and disolve, mixing with the vodka/gin, making it a weaker drink. This would delay the impact of the alcohol (albeit, not much) on his body, a definite value considering his line of work. Stirring the Martini, on the other hand (when done correctly) simply chills the alcohol to the desired temperature, leaving its potency in-tact. Just a little knowledge from someone with some bar training in their past...

Nice info, Spikes! I think he didn't care because he had just been poisoned, but here is some interesting info on the famous Bond line:

Hard to imagine him not using the 'Bond, James Bond' line, but I don't think I'll really miss the other. Wasn't Roger Moore forbidden from using the Shakin' line as well (at least at first)?

I think the movie will be kickass regardless. The lines would be nice though. I love hearing them especially when they are done in a humourous clever way.

Wasn't the line in Casino Royale,
Bond: "Dry Vodka Martini."
Bartender: "Shake or stirred?"
Bond: "Does it look like I care?"

ya it should still be a great movie, but i was a little shocked about the changes they have been making. it wont matter much to me as long as the story is great and it has some great action scenes

Does it really matter? I mean from the trailer it already looks like it could pass CR in greatness...and if that is the case DC could end up being the best Bond if his 3rd is on par.

I cannot wait for this movie. The "does it look like I give a damn" was one of my favorites. But when he finally says "the names Bond..." right at the end there, that was gold.

I cannot wait for this movie, and needless to say, I cannot wait for it on Blu!

These new movies are about "pre-bond". It is about how Bond.. becomes the Bond we know. They probably want to get away from Bond-isms so they can focus on his character at this point in time and develop him slowly into future Bond. The first real glimpse we caught of Bond was at the end of Casino Royale when he caps the guy at the end.

No reason to rush the character development.

Got to agree with that, it was gold to experience it the first time in the cinema

I've never cared much about any of the James Bond movies but IMO there's always room for improvement other than using the same famous lines over and over again.
