Default Godfather Blu-ray $10 rebate denied because receipt is from out-of-state? Borders.com

I ordered my Godfather Blu-ray from Borders.com for $61.(plus sales tax)

There's a $10 rebate form inside for people who have the DVD version of
Godfather.

However, the rebate form clear states:

"Store receipts must emanate from
same state as consumer address."

Will I be denied the $10 rebate based on this?

Also, is there a phone number(or website) for Paramount to verify this?

Thanks!

perhaps your and I are the only two people in the world
(or at least in this forum) who has noticed this?

I just noticed my Borders.com receipt doesn't show their
company address at all.... I'm just gonna mail in the rebate
and see what happens.... if they send me the 10 bucks, great!
If not, I'll have the Godfather make Paramount an offer
they can't refuse!

Godfather will be my first Paramount upgrade rebate, so I can't say with 100% certainty, but Disney honored my Amazon receipt for Unbreakable, so I'm guessing Paramount will follow suit. They might even be handled by the same rebate company. I really hope so, since my Unbreakable rebate check came after only about two weeks.

The studios hire rebate fulfillment companies for these types of things. I've seen that language before on rebates that were still honored from out of state retailers but obviously experience varies.

at least it's only a small piece of the the cover....

If the Corleone family is running the rebate, they will probably want you
to chop off your pinky finger and mail it in along with the rebate form.
If you don't, they'll return the rebate as rejected, along with a fish wrapped
in old newspaper.

I noticed that too when I got Transformers. I sent all the required crap that they make you send in and I also sent a detailed letter stating my situation of purchasing it out of state and therefore they should "honor" they obligation to send me my $10.

I've done about 10 or 11 rebates with Disney (which by the way Paramount copied their exact rebate form and wording) and have not been denied for any of them for using amazon.com order receipts.

No, not yet. I mailed it out on the day Transformers BR hit the streets (Sept. 2). So I wouldn't expect it to come in the mail until at least mid-October. Rebates take forever to come back, that is if they even send me one being that my purchase was "out of state".

The Corleones are Yakuza, now?

Looks like fighting in the Pacific affected Michael more than expected

What I'm trying to find is the proof-of-purchase that is required from the Standard DVD set to complete my rebate form. It appears that there is only the SKU on the bottom of the box. I'm wondering if Paramount knows this and if there is a remedy since many of us did not keep the outer paper insert which I understand also doesn't have the proof-of-purchase on it.

Does the UPC code at the bottom count? I dont know if I want to cut up the box to the SD version. cuz there is no proof of purchase tab on the movie sleeves.

The rebate says use either proof of purchase or upc. The upc on the outer paper insert would work. But If you tossed it then I suppose you'd have to cut the outer box

My Transformers rebate was denied (original cash register receipt not included - because I sent a Family Video online invoice). They probably should not have sent me an email address and reference number, because I immidiately contacted them and threatened to file the matter with the BBB. The next day they replied and basically said sorry, my rebate will arrive in 5-7 weeks.
