Download in the background?

I should mention that my 360 is hard-wired ethernet, whereas my PS3 is set to wireless. Would this make a difference? Or does the PS3 not do this at all? It seems like I'm missing a setting, but I can't figure out where.

don't think the ps3 can do this! i loved this feature on the 360 and even the wii does does it with it's connect 24 service. maybe in a future firmware update???
