Default Even Microsoft agree's Sony is on to something WITH "HOME"

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Microsoft Chief Research and Strategy Officer Craig Mundie on Thursday offered a long-term view of where Microsoft and the world of computing are heading over the next few decades. Speaking at the MIT Emerging Technology Conference here, Mundie envisioned a 3D virtual world populated by virtual presences, using a combination of client and cloud services.

He called this next generation "spatial computing" and listed numerous attributes: many-core processors; parallel programming; seamlessly connected and fully productive; context-aware and model-based; personalized, humanistic, and adaptive; 3D and immersive; and utilizing speech, vision and gestures.

Mundie envisioned it? Or Microsoft saw Sony (and many others visions) and have decided to copy them and rip off another idea.

i don't think Microsoft is trying to take credit for it, but if the Idea is a sound one Microsoft gets out their Xerox Machine out, dust it off and put it to good use. ,
I mean even Nintendo saw it going to that type of advancement in social networks,
its just nice to see Microsoft is getting on board.i just wonder what took them so long

Perish the thought of taking away the joy of bashing microsoft from some people, but this idea is nothing new and sony is certainly not the inventor of it. This type of thing has been being worked on for well over 15 years. I worked at a tech company in Cambridge (with exceptionally strong MIT ties) and there were a lot of big dogs interested in it then, but the 'net was still new overall and not as easy for the general populance to get on.

A lot of these people in these bleeding edge research teams know each other, in case you hadn't guessed.

once again you take things left field, but it would not be you if you did not do that,
like i said the point is i listed them because it shows they are all thinking the same way for the growth of social networks, i just asked what may have taken Microsoft to get on the bandwagon also. with the others. they all have Xerox machines, i just wonder why it took microsoft a little longer to get their's out.

thats why i included "many other visions". I know Sony did not envision a 3-D social network, but they are the ones who envisioned it on a gaming console. So they should get some recognition in the gaming world.

I just found it funny how their guy was envisioning something that Sony and many others had envisioned long, long ago.

LOL I put dereksworl on there as a joke. That way if someone was mad at what I say, they could direct their anger toward Derek on PSN lol.
