How is things up in north dakota?Movie time,time for a record or family time? I finally got my turn table figured out,and got the pro-ject tube box s amp.Man,I love this one.It just makes the vinyl leap out of the speakers if you know what I mean.Playing Pink floyds The wall at the moment.It was a toss-up between that and the Final cut.Is it just me,or is that record fidelity heaven?

Sadly not as large as I would like.
I believe it's about 11 x 14.

I'm moving from the house I had for the last year.

That seems tight for a ATMOS system ............ I don't know if I could even pick out the different point sources

My Stereophonic Parlor of Bliss and Office system are in rooms about that size

ATMOS is about the inclusion of either 2 or 4 speakers on the ceiling or 2 width speakers. if you have room for a 5.1, you have room for ATMOS.

if I put you in a room, (doesn't matter the size either) sit you in a chair in the center of it. get a person with a hammer on the opposite side of each wall, two (or four) people upstairs are you telling me if they start banging on the walls (and the folks upstairs banging on the floor) with those hammers you can't tell where that banging is coming from? sure you can, that's surround/ATMOS for you, it will work the same way as long as the system is calibrated properly.

my office at work is about 12 x 12 (yep, all to myself too!) and I bet you, a 5.1.2 system would be incredible in here.

Well tomorrow starts round one of my move. Bringing the current home theater speakers over with the help of a friend.

Dude ................... I'm well aware of what Atmos, DTS-x, Auro & the others consist of and how they're implemented ..... I'm just saying that having point sources located so close to one another would make it difficult to locate the sounds being reproduced, you'd just know they were overhead .

I'd love to see how you place those speakers in my environments

If my room is too small for Atmos I will probably go back to a 7.1 system. Though a 5.1 system with two front height speakers could be a possibility.

My other thoughts are based on what brand speakers and what components I may choose if I do overhaul my system.

As I am seriously considering video upgrades before audio upgrades.

Any help, suggestions, and thoughts are most welcome and appreciated

I just don't see how it could be installed in my spaces
