Is it still worth buying new BD's the week of release ?

With the exception of Superhero movies or sequels to movies that I'm already familiar with I usually just go ahead & blind buy most all of the brand new movies that I want on release day because price drops on some movies are so random that I may not have the money to spend on them when they are randomly at their lowest prices. If I didn't have a gotta have it now mentality then I could definitely save a lot of money on blind buys.
