So hypothetically if Peyton Manning were to end up getting nailed for the PED's that are rumored with rock solid evidence he bought and took them how would it affect his HOF status? In MLB it's an automatic disqualifier. I'd be curious to see if NFL voters would so easily disqualify or make an all-time great wait to get in over it. I suspect it wouldn't be considered as big a deal in the NFL.

Isn't HGH a 4 game suspension? Don't think that's enough to make a difference.

I believe so. But in MLB some guys are kept out of the HOF despite having never even tested positive or been suspended a single game. I'm just wondering if the NFL HOF voters would be anywhere near as tough on a great player who used. I suspect they wouldn't. It doesn't seem as big a deal with the media and fans as MLB players who similarly cheat.

I doubt the NFL will do any sort of serious investigation of Manning, and even if they found some evidence he used HGH I doubt the Hall of Fame voters would care. PED use doesn't seem to matter in any sport except baseball.

If Manning used HGH this season, my goodness, he should demand a refund!

I can't believe Riley Cooper got cut, that guy's talent made all the headaches worth it by a long shot!

I disagree. His faith is also another source of ridicule that he has to deal with

What headaches? He said somethings very untoward, immediately apologized, and had the support of his teammates. Granted I don't think he was worth the contract he signed, but that's the reason he is cut.

Assuming the HGH thing comes up empty, why not play another season? With that defense, Peyton doesn't have to be 55 TD Peyton Manning, he just needs to be a game manager. The offense didn't even have 200 yards and had like 50 yards fewer than the Trent Dilfer team and they still won.

I think it's a business decision right now. He's not going to another team so it's either take a pay cut or retire.

Is he under contract for 2016? If not I have a hard time believing Denver would bring him back given even Osweiler is a better QB these days than Peyton.

Elway is a smart guy. He knows that he needs to cut Peyton to keep Broooock Osweiler. It makes no sense to do anything else.

When Elway retired, he was by far Denver's best option and they had nothing for the following year. Can't say the same about Peyton.

He is under contract for $19m. Hard to see them paying that for the QB performance he put on this season. He had 17 interceptions in 9 starts.

Broncos defense gave up 14.66ppg in playoffs. Tommy Brady put up the most points on them with 18 in the AFC title game. Steelers scored 16 and Panthers scored 10.

No guarantee they get Osweiler back. He's a free agent and Denver has a lot of guys to resign.

Yeah, that's good but not even close to the 1985 Bears and 2000 Ravens who probably had the most dominant postseason performances defensively.

2000 Ravens - gave up 23 total points in 4 games - 5.75 PPG
1985 Bears - gave up 10 points in 3 games - 3.33 PPG

Sure it is... No veteran I've ever known cares enough to freak out over a football player not "properly" saluting the flag. With no actual name attached I'll assume this "United States Veteran" is just some random internet dude with an axe to grind.

Os will be resigned. Manning's contract is only guaranteed if he's on roster after March 9th.

Based on cap going to $150m as projected, Broncos have will have $25-30m in cap space. If Manning retires/released, $19m in salary will free up. Plus Ryan Clady will either be cut or restructured, giving another $10m in cap space. With these and other expiring contracts, they will have between $50-60m in cap space.

Von will be franchised or sign long-term for $15-20m, leaving plenty of room to sign Os and others.
