I wish they would include matchmaking for the raid just to prove it won't work most of the time. PvP matchmaking does not work a lot of the time, and strike matchmaking does not work some of the time. What are you going to do when some hard lagger or some AFK POS, or some guy who is simply not up to the task gets matched with you? You can't kick them from matchmade game. I suspect you would waste far more time with a matchmade group in the King's Fall raid than it would take you to build a group from LFG or a site like The 100.
Here's what would happen if they did try it: A week would go by and everyone who wanted matchmaking would start screaming that it's broken and needs to be fixed, because they can't play with laggers and slackers or those who refuse to mic up, so they need to be able to set conditions on matchmaking. It never ends. I spend ninety percent of my Destiny game time with two or three other players, and while it is a little inconvenient, it never takes more than a few minutes to find two or three motivated players from LFG. |

I never liked having to learn the raids anyway, it wasn't fun for me to spend hours failing and end up in a bad mood with nothing to show for my time but a headache and a night of less sleep than I needed. I can't see myself ever going back through that again, destiny 2 will be a much more casual experience for me. Hopefully they learn how to make PVP even next time around and stop screwing with it. |

How could they fail at raid matchmaking. These raids are no where near as complex as some of the FFXIV raids and I have only ever raided with random people on there.
Destiny only has to worry about 6 players where as FF has 24. I don't see why it would matter so much if they added it, you guys that always play as 6 aren't affected at all and you can still use LFG. Or is it that if they add matchmaking then there's a fear that LFG sites will become ghost towns if they do? |

I think for Destiny 2 they should look at these LFG sites and see how they could incorporate this concept into the game.
For Destiny currently, I think they should have at least added matchmaking as an option for Raids. Its your choice whether you want to run a Raid with randoms or inexperienced Raiders. If you don't want to then there should be option like 'Private' or something along those lines. I can see the pros and cons for matchmaking in Raids but it should be an option and not forced on you. Another idea for Destiny 2 would be a like a server browser for Raids. The Fireteam leader could stipulate his requirements for his fireteam, i.e. Light Level if you do not meet those requirements then you cannot join and the Fireteam leader has the ability to kick unwanted players (but this may get abused ![]() Last edited by G1ggs; 02-11-2016 at 03:24 PM. |

The biggest problem might be making someone the leader of the group, too many chiefs and not enough Indians won't get anyone anywhere.
Even in LFG finds, people come in trying to give their resume. Different groups have different tactics and when you mix those people together, it turns into an argument. Simply some people just don't want to change. Matching making with PVP is easier to deal with, some people run together as a group or, while some like to separate from the group and be a loner. In the Raid, everyone must together to accomplish the goal. |

An example of how it can go wrong is the Darkblade strike for the exotic sword quest. This strike, inexplicably, has matchmaking (though there are no longer enough players to match into one consistently, which is another problem you need to consider). I tried several times with a matchmade group to earn my first sword, and could not do it, because some POS kept killing the knight or knights, and would not use a microphone to communicate. This happened two or three times in a row...so, probably an hour all told. Decided to go the LFG route, got a team within a couple of minutes, talked about what we were doing at the beginning and beat the strike for two different swords in one go. I don't see any kind of in-game matchmaking that can avoid this scenario. The second time I did this for an exotic sword, I got matchmade into the strike alone and no one joined in progress, so I was forced to go the LFG route or wait until more friends were online. |

Good news, looks like there will be a new expansion this year after all.
“Activision Publishing, along with its partners at Bungie, expects to bring a large new expansion to Destiny in 2016 and to release a full game sequel in 2017.” There’s no word yet what this “large new expansion” will actually be. As we reported in January, Bungie made the decision earlier this year to delay Destiny’s sequel. Plans remain in flux for the future of the game’s content. |

This week at Bungie Crimson Doubles is in full swing, but that’s not the only dance afoot.
Prior to the holiday break we mentioned a second, larger update slated for Spring. That content release will feature a significant Light increase, a bunch of new gear to earn and equip, and new challenges for PvE players seeking some more fun experiences and replayability. Beyond that, the team is focused on delivering a large expansion later this year, and a full Destiny sequel in 2017. As work wraps up in the weeks ahead, look for more details about the Spring content, as well as more information about our bigger projects in the months that follow. Thanks for your patience, and thanks for playing. Matchmakers How we introduce you to your opponents in the Crucible has been a hot topic of conversation lately. The chatter continues this week as we sample the overall reaction to how new Matchmaking settings have shaped the Crimson Doubles experience. Reports from the front have suggested that "date night" has been pretty competitive. Here’s Design Lead Lars Bakken with some fresh thoughts. Lars: Hey everyone, we’ve made some great strides to update Matchmaking over the last couple of weeks. For those of you just tuning in, Matchmaking itself is governed by some specific design goals: Ensuring you get into a match in a timely fashion, looking for a good connection, creating relatively balanced teams so players don’t get stomped continually. We’re gathering a ton of data and listening to feedback. We’re examining the new Damage Referee and figuring out if and when we want to deploy it wider. There is more work to do and we’re planning our next steps right now. When we’re ready to share them, we’ll activate DeeJ. Thanks again for all your help. A balancing act that involves millions of players never ends. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=44353 |

The expansion needs to be really cheap, since we have been screwed so far on the pricing of all the expansion crap....

They have made the addicts so hard up for new material that they will pay anything. And I'd actually rather pay a premium for real content than be subject to microtransactions, but that's a personal preference.

At least we'll be getting what sounds like a (free?) update in the Spring with a real expansion in the Fall. At least there will be some kind of actual PvE content coming this year. |

Wouldn't surprise me if they update the old Raids and maybe PoE to the new light level
