I believe the 2-disc version that comes with the new extended edition and the original blu-ray release on two separate blu-ray discs is now out of print. I suggest looking at stores like FYE, Barnes and Noble, and Rasputin's to see if they have it on the shelf still. I got mine yesterday at Rasputin's for $30 new. FYE and Rasputin's also carry used blu-rays and you might be able to find it used for cheaper. Side note, for $25 new, Rasputin's also had the extended director's cut single disc release that came out a few months ago, which seems to be impossible to find at Best Buy or Amazon. Both sites list it as "temporarily unavailable", but it has been listed as this forever. It seems like they just aren't printing enough discs, similar to the Witness blu-ray situation. So, if you really want to see this movie on blu-ray disc and don't want to pay crazy ebay prices for out of print discs, I'd try FYE, Barnes and Noble, and Rasputin's.

The Collector's edition is OOP.
The extended cut only is now distributed by Fox : https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Once-...lu-ray/135040/ |

I don't know anyone who has purchased the Fox release but the back of the BD insert says it is restricted to Region A.

And then picked up the identical regular 2-disc release during a Fox Connect sale. Needless to say, it was a decision I was very happy with. |

Once Upon a Time in America and the first 2 Godfather films are the indispensable crime epics of movie history, in my opinion. Leone's movie is so ambitious and sprawling and meticulously produced that very few other movies come close. There are many scenes that feel eerily poetic, and Ennio Morricone's haunting score make those scenes unforgettable. Even Scorsese's films like Goodfellas and Gangs of New York somehow don't feel as important and sweeping as Leone's film. It really is a shame that we'll never get a pristine version of Leone's original 4+ hour cut, but I'm really pleased with Warner's extended cut, even with the altered color and poor quality of the added scenes.

Just placed my order with Amazon.
![]() Initially, I went to Best Buy to get them to do a PM, but of course, they didn't stock it. A true blue movie classic and they don't even bother to have it in store. ![]() Typical of crappy Best Buy. BTW - Is this flick on backorder? ![]() On my order, it stated "Delivery date not yet available." |
