Smile Sivaji Ayngaran Blu-ray Disc Not Playing in Sony Blu-ray Player

Hello All,

I have recently manage to purchase Sivaji Ayngaran Blu-ray, I am trying to play the movie in my Sony Blu-ray Player but it is detecting as Data BD. I hope it is due to some kind of region protection, can someone please confirm.

Perhaps you all should check your Sivaji Ayngaran Blu-ray disc by playing it in your Blu-ray player or BD Drive.

[Show spoiler]

Thanks
Prabhu

Could be Region Coded Bruh!

If thats the case, you need "region free" BluRay player!

That's what I was doubting, would appreciate if someone with the Sivaji Blu-ray disc could confirm this. So that I can look for a solution and please do share the options to bypass it.

Thanks

Sivaji's Ayngaran release is region-free.
Did you try playing it in another player?

Not sure, but the worst case scenario would be disc rot. After all, the BD was released a decade ago. Again, you sure that you're having the genuine product in hand?

If it is rotten I am sure it should show nothing, though I have that doubt, I am having a genuine product purchased from the reliable sources from UK. I am still waiting for someone with the Sivaji AYN Disc to confirm

Thanks

^ I have it. I guess you don't have the cover (attached). It's "Region Free". My disc plays fine. The rip is 45.5 GB. Try washing it with soap and warm water. I do have some bad discs but mostly DVDs.

The BRD looks legit tho. Try washing it like rajkapoor said. 45+GB is usually uncompressed real stuff.

Of course yes, I do have the Blu-ray with cover obviously, my question would be why my Sony Blu-ray Player detecting the Disc as "Data BD" and Is it good to wash the Disc or do we have any other option.

Thanks

Because you were asking if it was region free, I thought you don't have the cover. Light washing is OK. Here is a link to disc cleaning:

I have this exact same issue! My player sees the disc and the data folders on the disc, but won't play the disc content

Thanks for joining me, are you able to see the .m2ts files and it's actual sizes? Checkout the following screenshots. Normally once you insert the disc in the blu-ray player it should automatically start playing the intro.

That is what I get also. I've watched this Blu-ray dozens of times on other players, just this Sony doesn't want to recognize it.

Dear Andrew,

Can you please post the screenshot of your Blu-ray player disc contents, can you also confirm whether the disc can read in your PC if you have Blu-ray reader/writer.

Thanks
