If the remote is the only thing separating the two, a good universal can be had for much less than the price difference between the two.
I never use OEM remotes.
The ONLY exception is my Tivo one for the family and I can still comfortably use my universal with that also.

For my own part, I tried RGB enhanced + HDMI Black Level Auto.

On Dynamic setting.

Do not like.

Maybe it's my plasma past, but I prefer Auto Color with Movie setting on my JS8500. The brightness is boosted enough with the backlight at 20/contrast 100 without needing to add Dynamic to my JS8500.

But hey, we're in the "everyone has different calibrations" stage of the game right now until actual UHD HDR settings come out.

Im back to auto as well.

But there's something screwed up on expendables and Ender's game and using enhanced corrects the black issue problem. For everything else it crushes the picture.

Ive spent an easy 7 hours on comparing several movies. No doubt rgb enhanced is the best setting along with standard picture set for me.
Everything is so much darker on the ycbr.

All in all blu ray and uhd with rgb enhanced seem to be the best mixture without going in and manually adjusting everything.
Hope this helps any p or m series vizio owners

Glad to read that user mode on the player doesn't affect HDR. If settings need to be tweaked based on movie than it may be easier to leave the TV settings alone and adjust there instead.

I'd like to report that my genius girlfriend discovered that the Player works on HDMI 1 on the Vizio D55U-D1. Sweet relief. Turns out HDMI 5, which seems to be the preferred input won't actually work. HDMI 1 is the ticket if anyone else is experiencing issues with this combination.

Movie mode.

Play around with dynamic contrast and gamma and see which you like. I prefer Dynamic contrast high for hdr content.

You referring to player settings right..?

What would be a recommended setting for non-HDR display's? Thanks
