the overhead sound effects were minimal but when implemented were fun, notably during the fight scene in the fire, which put a lot of ceiling sound sourcing (the fire, creaking, crackling) to dramatic effect.

Oh, cool. Thanks for the info. Maybe the theatre I was in just didn't have the speaker volume set properly. When I get it at home I'm going to crank the overheads so I'll notice those fire sounds for sure, haha.
