Sports Films on Blu-Ray Thread - Blu-ray Forum

Noticed that there is a lack of a comprehensive sports blu-ray thread so I thought I'd start one. I'll be putting together other sports at another time, but in the meanwhile, give a look at the current categories and let me know if I'm missing any.

*All categories are organized by year (and alphabetically within the same year).
*This is for region A unless if there are any international releases that are region free and missing from the lists.
*Some titles may have some liberties with the connection to each sport but should generally be centered around the sport or a player.
*Some categories may be grouped together for similarities.

Breaking Away (a cycling film available from Twilight Time) for the win.

Chariots of Fire (a running film available from Warner) and Downhill Racer (an Olympic ski film available from Criterion) are two other favorites of mine,

Don't forget to put "Caddyshack" in the golf section when you start it.

It would be nice to add "Tin Cup" to the golf section, too, but WB hasn't put that out yet. Then again, I think it's actually a Regency title, so maybe it goes over to Fox with the rest of those titles.

Pretty much set up the categories. Enjoy!

Will be adding a documentary category though, which will include all sports, to keep it separate from acted sports films.

Keep on the lookout for anything I might have missed.

Just added climbing, competitive eating (because why not

), rowing, skateboarding, water sports and documentary sections. I think I've run dry for categories that might have films at this point although Top Gun could certainly make a push for a volleyball section.

Found a region free version of that and Wimbledon. Missed a couple ping pong movies so they've been added too. Shame Balls of Fury hasn't been released anywhere!

A really great thread, thanks deltatauhobbit. If you ever need another category there's always Butter for competitive Butter-sculpting. Or Cocktail for drink mixing.

I would say that for some of the larger categories especially then alphabetical order for the entries might be helpful.
