Default Will the WII be THE hot item again this year?

I know nintendo hasn't sped up any manufactoring at all (they stated that they wont on several occasions) and last year the wii's were selling for double than what they retail on ebay. It seems stores still can't keep these in stock and they're all sold almost immediatley. Does anyone else think the wii will once again be the hottest toy this year? I'm debating if maybe i should go pick a couple up myself and sell them on ebay...

I think they will, still cheap and great party system. Kids love them, and I think thats why they fly off the shelf.

Will it be a hot item this holiday season? yes

Is it aimed at the same demographic as the 360/ps3? no

But that is the 360 without the HD.

I would NEVER buy a 360 without a HD, i think it would be a major waste of money and time.

It is a great thing for microsoft though "buy the 360 now and pay even more later for the hard drive!"

Money hungry

tell her to shut up and then make some analogy she would understand like DVDs are like purses from Wal-mart and BDs are like Coach purses.

Now if you could trade in your Wal-mart purse and get a 50% off credit towards a Coach purse, you would do it, wouldn't you?

Basically I said "look I dont say anythign to you when you get new clothes and shoes with YOUR money, and yeah I know I paid a hefty sum for my DVDS..but MOVIES are my thing, thats what I liek to waste my money on..and if I can upgrade the movies I love then you better believe I am, so dont give me shit about it...please"

LOL same thing here. I started investing HEAVILY into dvd's (love watching movies) and than one day in sears i walked by a TV with simpons on blu playing and my friend nudge me and said "wouldn't that look pretty cool on your TV?" Well a brand new tv and 2 blu ray players later, it's bye bye to the dvd collection.

that is a good analogy but my response to her was "who makes more money?"

That one always seems to get her.....

Nintendo has predicted they won't be able to keep up with demand, again. Some feel the deliberate shortages have allowed the Wii to maintain a buzz that would have long ago died out if the product had been easily available.

I doubt this year they will be so difficult to find that eBay will be the last refuge. But, who knows?

I found one last year at a local HMV on Xmas eve. So, even then, the demand couldn't have been as huge as it seemed.

I think it will still seel very well but I don't think it will be as crazy as last year.

I'm hoping the new bundle by Sony 160 gb with drake fortune / pain will sell. The first game I played on the ps3 and it really sets the tone high.

What I would have liked to hear is the ultimate bundle. 160 gb PS3, drake's fortune, wipeoutHD, the dark knight blu-ray. That's just too much awesomeness in one bundle
