I'll have to see more about this movie to know where it stands. The trailer doesn't offer much on who the target audience is since it looks like the ducks were grabbing weapons from the weapon rack if I'm not mistaken.

It looks plenty entertaining for the kids , the jury is still out for adults and the 3D though.

Quote:
When the peaceful island of the Mandarin Ducks is mistakenly invaded by the Military Mallards, a conflict flares up between the Mandarin Emperor and the Mallard Commander. Longway, the Emperor's son, and Erica, the daughter of the Mallard Commander, meet… and before long, a friendship takes wing. While their feathered fathers fight and egg each other on, the wicked Ms. Knout is con-duck-ting a scheme to destroy the sun. The kids will have to get all their ducks in a row to battle their foe… but waddle they do if her foul plan succeeds? Come journey with us through this wondrous movie adventure that is filled with wholesome values, universal appeal and laugh-out-loud fun for the family. QUACKERZ emphasizes the importance of family, friendship, teamwork, respect, and acts of generosity and kindness.

My copy of Quackerz came in today along with Jaws 3. Scanned through Quackerz just now. It appears to be a mixed bag in the 3D department. Saw mild, medium and strong 3D throughout. I will try an watch it over the next few days to let you all know how the story is. It does look quite colorful and the look is quite nice.

OK guys, I just got finished watching Quackerz. All I can say about the 3D is WOW! Definitely one to show off your TV with. My only complaint was the painted back drops. Most were flat with no depth what so ever. Most the feature extended outside the TV screen with quite a few cool pop-outs. I wish Pixar, Dreamworks, Disney would put out 3D like this. The story line was just OK. A villain in search of the sun duck. This is definitely a quirky children's adventure that will probably bore most adults. But WOW,the 3D! Did I mention that the 3d was great?

Thanks Dartfrog for the 3D details. Sounds like mostly strong 3D layers? Is it comparable to NWave's Turtle's Tale or House of Magic, or Dreamworks' Madagascar 3 3D?

Maybe not quite as good as the above mentioned but dang close. As I mentioned the only draw back for me was the backdrops. They were too flat with no depth. But I remember most the feature took place outside the screen. Now I must watch it again this weekend.

Thanks Dartfrog. That sounds good. I know a few lower budget 3D films tend to use flat backdrop matte paintings for distant backgrounds, as I've seen in War of the Worlds Goliath, Dino King, and Dragon Nest 3D.

I tried to watch this twice and fell asleep both times, i did not connect at all with the story and characters. I will get the kids to watch it later to see if they like it any better.

The 3D is excellent though , very high quality 3D & separation.

The Images are crystal clear..... so your TV screen turns into a open window and the images are constantly in 3D with incredible detail. There are plenty of pop outs that are medium to strong with smoke , white fluffy particles and duck beaks sticking through the invisible window.

The 3d (only the 3d) is comparable to movies like How to train your dragon and Despicable me and Bolt.

Rent or buy very cheap.

NOTE: Region A Locked

Hi Everret, I did not think the story was that bad. I did not fall asleep and remember being pretty entertained throughout, but maybe that was because the 3D was that good. As mentioned above I will try to watch it again in the next few days.

The trailer's humor and character design has me interested.

Thanks Everret.
HTTYD 1 and Bolt have mostly medium 3D but look good in 3D.

This movie was not originally in English so much of the humor was likely lost in translation. I also fell asleep watching it the first time.

Some of the jokes are humorous from what I saw, but have to check out the 3D version. A lot of the story centers around the humans and not just the ducks I see.
