Cymbol, you definitely sound confused. Maybe you should employ a professional installer to come out and get all your equipment hooked up so it works properly. It took me a good while to figure out how to get all my equipment hooked up so everything worked.

You have to tell the PS3 to use Optical for Sound. If you dont, sound will go through HDMI which will use your TV's speakers. No problems here.

The problem, in this case, is he wants Audio to go from the PS3 over both HDMI and optical at the same time.

Oh man! Somehow I've confused people (or people think I'm confused). I was just ranting - maybe my original post was not detailed enough or too detailed?

Basically: You can only select HDMI OR Optical, not both? True?
I thought it was True, but many people think I'm confused somehow. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

My problem with the PS3 is this: Lets use an anology
Lets pretend my standard DVD player has two audio sources. Stereo outputs (red and white RCA cables) that I connect to my T.V. Then I run an optical cable to my receiver. Still with me? Now, when I turn on my T.V. - I have sound. Also, when I turn on my receiver, I have sound.

My issue with the PS3 is I have to select either/or. Now substitute an HDMI cable for the red and white RCA jacks. On the PS3 I have to keep going into the menu settings to change the sound source. I should play from any sound source I have hooked up at all time IMO.

Sometimes, it all of a sudden will play from both (at the same time).

That was the "malfunction" I would like to keep.

Ok, did I clear things up, or confuse everybody more? Please feel free to correct me.

Thanks guys, take it easy,
