When the guy scoring these films starts having difficulty coming up with new material it's a pretty good sign you're just doing the same movie again and again and again and again and again. Maybe they should just stop making superhero movies? Or at least inject a little freshness into it, play with the many multiple timelines. If you're gonna insist on having Batman everywhere for example make one of those outlets the timeline where he's locked up. Just do something that's not good vs evil vs the most ill equipped prisons and asylums ever conceived.

Not really a bad thing. I thought the BvS score was a big improvement over his MoS one (which worked fine in the context of the movie, but was unbearable to listen to on its own), so I guess he's going out on a good note (no pun intended).
Hopefully Junkie XL takes up the mantle for the rest of these DC movies, or at least the JLA ones. |

But Zimmer feeling he is repeating himself is not evidence of that in any way, shape, or form. Zimmer has been recycling and reusing his work for decades. Listen to Drop Zone and then Pirates of the Caribbean, just for one example. Practically the exact same theme, with a few tweaks. |

Comic book films have become their own genre, but they are all quite different from each other, and are really made up of several sub genres. 4-5 comic book films a year is really not that much when you actually think about it. That's less than 1 movie every two months. That leaves lots of weekends for other films to get released and make money. If you don't like them, that's fine, but lets not act like they are stopping other films from being made or watched. Comedy has really taken a nosedive this decade, but I'm not crying for them to stop being produced, as once in a while you get a gem like Pee Wee's Big Holiday. |
