What kind of receiver do you have? How is it hooked up to the PS3? Via optical or HDMI?

Boy even the mods are too lazy to use their own site!

Audio

English: Dolby TrueHD 7.1 (48kHz, 24-bit)
English: Dolby Digital 5.1
Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1
Portuguese: Dolby Digital 2.0...
So it's got a 7.1 track, but only if you can do the HD codecs, hence why I was asking about the receiver and how it's hooked up.

Well, the OP is presumably watching the Region B release, which is not spec'd on this site...

Thanks Joe. That's exactly what I was asking about (the UK edition).

I was teasing anyway, but that's a good catch. I didn't think about it being different. My mistake!

Tried looking up your receiver and couldn't find anything in English. Again, HDMI or optical?

I'm betting dollars to donuts you're defaulting to the DD 5.1 because it can accept the TRUEHD 7.1 stream. If your receiver defintely does HDMI audio, make sure you're sending the audio from the PS3 via PCM and not bitstream.
