I haven't compared them myself yet, but I've been meaning to. I suspect they are different.

What would the point be of two different versions? Surely, Network would not have wanted to spend the money on a new transfer of that one episode?

Does the series two version open with purple logo screen (I think it's an ITC logo)?

I don't know how they commissioned the remasters. They may have just sent the entire series out for remastering, even though episode 1 was done years ago. Remember, The Metamorph was done just as a preview for year 2. It may not have had the final audio or video mastering done.

The year 1 preview episode of The Metamorph opens with a purple Granada logo. The year two set doesn't have that logo - it just starts playing the episode.

That's what I thought, whilst it looks fantastic, it doesn't quite have the same polish as series one, although it might just be a source issue.

This just dropped to 38 pounds (before VAT deduction) on Amazon UK. I think I'm gonna order it. I have the 7 pound promo code from buying the 30 pound gift card (recent promotion), so that reduces it a bit more...

here is a useful site for elite cases that i use a lot...delivery is €7.99 for any size of order via TNT/DHL courier....

*DONT* make an account or sign in .... pay as a guest otherwise logging in or making an account makes the cost goes up to €19.99.

they sell these Blu-Ray ELITE 10-Disc Cases 35mm which you can un-clip 2 of the trays leaving you with a 35mm 6 disc case.

i damaged my season 1 case so got this to replace it.

I don't think there is a standard one, it's a DVD edition.

Oops! my bad. Should've looked more closely. Thought the lower price one was the version w/o the special slipcase

puzzles me why on the season 2 they say choose between the limited and standard yet you can only buy limited

£24 and i would have purchased

in any case Amazon will have season 2 in black Friday sales probably so i will wait a little longer

Are they saying choose between them or just using it to show the difference between their exclusive slip and the standard release available elsewhere.

no idea what it means

it shows you both and says to make a decision but will only allow you buy the limited edition so i guess that is all they sell.

still going to wait for lower price and in any case a basic slip-cover does not justify a huge mark up had it been a large bad-ass watchmen size slip then maybe

I wouldn't call £36 a huge mark up, quite a reasonable price IMO

not mocking it ....with the 40% off yes its a good price still and beats Amazon by £2 last time i checked.

its just the normal prices for these s1+s2 where they hike the item price up just because of a card slip-cover that is what i find a huge mark up.

was just saying that all

Strangely, if you order from outside of you UK (Luxembourg in my case) the price goes from £36 to £30 so I bought it (and I don't care about the slipcover).

Sounds like the VAT has been removed, Amazon do the same.
