Absolutely love the 42nd Street series although they haven't had a new release in some time. Thankfully, Trailer Trauma and Trailer Wars have helped fill the gap. I love watching a grindhouse flick from the 70's or 80's on a Friday or Saturday night in the summertime complete with crazy trailers. I actually like doing that more then checking out the latest superhero "blockbuster".

I've gone back and forth on getting the Blu-ray edition for a number of years now. Just can't plunk down even ~$10 for a bunch of trailers I can watch on YouTube. Somebody please try to sell me on what makes this series worthwhile.

as the clickclackman said before me, they provide lots of fun (if you're a fan of exploitation movies).
then the quality is of course much better than on youtube.
and the audio commentary tracks are both funny and very informative.
just watched a couple of the dvd editions this week with the commentary.

In some cases, the Blu-Ray or DVD will offer interesting audio commentaries on the films at hand or will have other neat special features. I usually watch via a projector and it's great to see the trailers in 1080P even though most are in rough shape. It really has that grindhouse feel of the 70's and 80's. And not all the trailers are available on YouTube. Surfing trailers on the net and watching them on a big screen are really two different experiences. It's a kick to put these trailer compilations on when you have friends over and have a couple of beers. A lot more fun than watching the stuff by yourself on YouTube.

I got 42nd Street Forever for free in a Buy 1, Get 1 at CD Warehouse (the title I bought was The Swimmer, which was a steal at $12.99). At any price, it's worth your time. Almost four hours of material and a very informative (and funny) commentary that runs the entire length of the presentation. You won't be disappointed.

Well, ya chaps done sold me. I had no idea this has a commentary.

I see the monster from The Deadly Spawn is on the cover so I assume the trailer is featured. Feels like it would be a bit of a tease to see HD footage (regardless how grubby the trailer reel was) when the movie's own Blu-ray is a poorly executed upscale.

Yes, The Deadly Spawn is there. The commentary on the trailer is really good too (covering details on its production and its theatrical run in New York, where it did really well).
