I don't think so.
[Show spoiler]I could've swore I remember seeing the Druid in scene, from a preview of what's to come this season, that hasn't been shown yet. However, if they did kill of Manu's character, that would suck. I think the sword probably trapped him inside the sword.

[Show spoiler]when he dies in the books he still comes back as a ghost to yap at them.

I don't think they did though.

I am really enjoying this show. Great special effects and non stop action. Every episode seems to get better & better. Hope it gets a 2nd season.

Oh boy...this past episode was just...very bad!
I get that:
1) the show creators are making this show teen/young crowd friendly
2) the show creators need to add material, not in the source material, to fill out the season.

But my goodness, they couldn't add something more in tune with the book? Maybe material from Sword of Shannara in flashback scenes?
I guess this is on me, as I consider the original Shannara trilogy among my most favorite, edging great epics like Lords of the Ring and Wheel of Time.

The U.S. Season 1 release info is up, and it's DVD-only:

No surprise that it's DVD only. Would have looked good on BD though.

The DVD only treatment's what they gave to Almost Human (and even then, it's handled by a third party that makes the DVDs "on demand"...), and The Last Kingdom (DVD in US, Blu in UK and other places).

Methinks that it's a telltale sign that if a show doesn't perform to the standards of what the company that bankrolls it expects, then they pursue whatever means cost the least but can recoup some losses.

And the U.K.

Think I will go with the French release. Beautiful cover art!

I don't really like importing, plus I don't have a region-free player.

Finished watching the series last week in two days and enjoyed it. Characters were well played and settings, costumes and creature designs were very fitting.
I didn't know anything about it when I purchased the Blu-ray and was pleasantly surprised that Ivana Baquero was in it and that I barely recognised her until I saw my copy of Pan's Labyrinth.

Interesting they did a blu for your region. NA only seem to be getting DVD.

Note: I went to look up regions and didn't know DVD and Blu regions differed so much. Being NA and Region 1 and A are the same for us.

doubtful, nothing else on MTV gets them. Teen Wolf is Fox and this is Paramount so that might be the difference, but if it's not coming out with the DVD then I don't see much of a chance of it ever happening.

I'm sort of surprised it was renewed. I mean I watch it and like it fine enough but the only main actor I liked was Poppy Drayton and it took a bit to actually renew it.. maybe they had to find the money or something lol I never read the books but I did read up on them, so wonder if season 2 will follow Wishsong (book three) or if they'll just stretch out the existing storyline past book 2 so they can keep the same actors.

Or do a prequel based on the first book? Although highly unlikely.
I just went ahead and preordered the French release. If something changes on the domestic front(not holding out any hope), then so be it. I will gladly dip on it.
Another idea that could keep the sme actors AND do one of the other books is to make this a anthology series. Again, highly unlikely, but it does offer up some neat character assignments. I'm assuming no matter what Manu Bennett will be involved as Allanon was in all three books.

is the French release region free/A as well? I know the German one is, but I'd be kind of nervous to order a copy from a country that doesn't speak English and then the menus be in a language I don't understand lol Movies are one thing, but TV shows would be completely different. Maybe the UK release will be free/A compatible and if it goes low enough I might be tempted.

I've been RF for awhile, so I just pick which version I like the most.
