Rup, we need the weekly and YTD numbers to get there first. But I do agree.
You like the idea of the champagne party, huh?

Losing or not the discs will still be playable in 10 years. People still play laser discs and VHS movies. Even if the format dies the discs won't go poof and vanish. You will still be able to play them for many, many years.

I prefer Whiskey, but it's the occasion that matters.

I think we're seeing a little bit of the BB affect this week. Next weeks numbers will be very telling since this is the week Universal released a big selection. I think the HD DVD crowd had about 12 releases this week and we only had a few. I even saw some of the HD DVD crowd commenting that if this weeks sales numbers don't go up, they felt HD DVD was done for.

If they don't move up any, it's going to be huge since Universal has said all along sales were skewed because they had fewer releases. I would love to see how they would spin this if the percentages stay about the same and they had a lot more exclusives for the week.

We have The Patriot ,the Untouchables, and Black Snake Moan and more in the two coming weeks so i dont think Universal with their old catalog titles can do anything.

Lets not forget that these titles are gorgeous in PQ and SQ as the review still come.

Other thing we should pay attention to it and its true too

Recent titles released still have strong sales like Casino Royale as the top chart shows.

Blu-ray is really looking like pac-man on that thing, gobbling up the competition.

Black Snake Moan was released on both formats Tuesday.

Also, Casino Royale was the 3rd-best selling high def title this week. That's pretty good for a movie that's been out since March 13th. I'm starting to think this could be evidence of the new cheap Sony player getting to the market, since this is a great movie and demo title for BD. Anyone else think this, or have a different opinion on it?

There's that 70:30 I've been waiting for. Keep that up for a few months and the marketplace will take notice.

I'm waiting for 2x:7x, I think that's a psychological breakpoint.

You are assuming that the hardware will last that long.

I am not so sure that my Toshiba player will last that many years, but you never know.

Hardware failure for dead formats is the biggest issue... I guess there is always eBay
