Are these listings from Amazon distribution, a reliable vendor, or some nobody with an Amazon Store?

For Mad Max, this is potentially very bad news, since the WB Blu-ray (somehow) prioritizes the godawful American dubbed audio track, as opposed to the original English audio. Unless this is a harbinger of MGM entering the UHD game (or of MGM licensing the film otherwise) and providing the films audio properly on a US edition, I am nervous.

I'd down for Argo since that has a 4K master.

All 4 shot on film. They'll probably just get rescanned anyways.

If I can get confirmation on that then yeah I'd be good for them all.

Definitely down for Argo and The Town! I do hope The Town includes the extended cut as well as the theatrical cut though.

I'm not too bothered in this case. I've already done a custom BD of the MGM video with the PROPER original mono audio so I've scratched that particular itch. If the UHD version comes with the lossless US 2.0 dub and lossy Aussie 5.1 like the current Warners BD then it won't be ideal, but I could live with that.

(One movie I couldn't do that with is Terminator. The UHD could well end up looking amazing if the remastered BD is any indication, but without the original mono track I'm not going near it.)

It looks like WB holds the rights to MM in Europe. As for the audio the original track was mostly botched on set rendering it incomprehensible so most people will be choosing the dubbed one.

Imbd.com has very detailed camera specs for all 3 movies. They can sometimes be wrong about DIs, but camera lists for older movies are almost always spot on. All shot on film with film cameras.

I was talking about the masters for the UHD discs. Like if Warner Brothers comes out and says "These are sourced from 4K masters" or something like that.

More so in relation to The Town. Mad Max shouldn't be an issue and we already know Argo is 4K. I just hate the idea of buying a UHD disc for a film where the source is a 2K DI. I know UHD Blu-ray is "more that just resolution" but I don't want my collection to just be full of upscales. And with Warners I'm just never sure.

Though I'm wondering if that Mad Max disc is even gonna get release over here. I see WB has it for foreign territories but MGM still has it over here in the US. Not that I can't import if I choose to get it but just curious on that one.

If it's rescanned for 4k the DI doesn't matter. That's the beauty of shooting on film instead of digital.

Uhd discs are region free so you can always important if needed.

Argo and The Town were guaranteed to hit UHD eventually with Live By Night coming out October 2017. Kinda surprised they're being released this soon, although this is only in France for now.
