That's what I heard too. But it was said the footage was 'beyond restoration'...

I'll add King Kong (1976) to that. Especially, with Kong: Skull Island, coming soon.

There was a widescreen version released in the U.S in 1998 on DVD. I have it. It doesn't appear to be listed on this site, or Amazon for that matter.

It is in 2.35:1, released under the Paramount Widescreen Collection.

He meant 16x9 as in anamorphic. The US DVD was 2.10:1 but it was unfortunately non-anamorphic unlike the DVD releases by Paramount in the rest of the world.

I do have the Japanese disc (region free) which is excellent but King Kong '76 does need a US release for those who want to buy from here. Kong: Skull Island would be good timing for it.

Finished watching Class of 1984 right now, and I liked it. It started off a bit slow but the end was bad**s. Michael J. Fox's hair is funny to look at, a bowl haircut. The school though was huge. Now that I think about it, the chick was going downstairs, yet the showdown was on the roof. An error in filming, I guess.

Quick question: did anyone else order Lord of Illusions during the Amazon sell when it was listed as Temporarily Out of Stock? Cause I still have not gotten mine and when I reached out to amazon they gave me the option of cancelling the order and ordering from a 3rd party or just cancelling all together if I didn't want to keep waiting.

It's probably just in-between pressings. I'd wait it out.

Picked up Tales from the Crypt Demon Knight/Boredello of Blood & Shocker this weekend. Pretty good haul, ran into "Squrim" at Frys this weekend wasn't sure about picking it up, anyone recommend it?

It's a pretty good low budget B horror. Waiting for the right price to pick it up. How much did they have it for? I may have to make a run to my local Fry's after work.

Ordered Squirm during the sale. It's a good one is a bit more on the funny side. You should like it tho.

Thinking Kong 76 might get a release when Skull Island comes out. One I've been waiting on to.

Yeah, Red Eye is part of Paramount's catalog, via DreamWorks. Basically, all live-action DW titles from 1997 thru 2010 are with Paramount.

Paramount also has a little title called Carriers (2009), which I wouldn't mind seeing on blu-ray. I realize it's been released in other territories, but a US release would be nice, too.

I watched Squirm last night after ordering it as part of the sale. Pretty bad, to be honest. 2/3 of the movie is this inane southern fried Agatha Christie story replete with bad acting and hideously faux accents.

The rest is awful effects work, consisting of gelatinous walls of spaghetti strand stand-ins that bounce and scream.

Will probably look to sell it at some point...probably the only Scream blind-buy misfire I've had, so I'm fortunate.

So far my only Scream blind-buy that I haven't really loved is Lake Placid. The Funhouse and Motel Hell didn't really impress on first viewings, but I have a feeling they will grow on me.

Best blind-buys have been Final Exam, Slumber Party Massacre, and The Fog!

I think there are many "bad" titles in the Scream Factory line-up, but they usually have something to make them worthwhile. The worst one I've encountered so far is The Island (1980)--like it's so bad I couldn't even finish it (and I finish almost everything).

I really liked The Island. The novel was better and it was abit hokey but the island atmosphere was good and the ending with the 50 calibre gun was memorable. Shame the disc was devoid of extras.
