ZERO Universal titles for sale at the only Best Buy in Lethbridge... city of 100,000 people. Jeepers. Specifically went in for E.T... no rack of Universal titles to be found, and another unrelated title that just came out I wanted (The Revenant) they didn't even have in the store on blu-ray!!!

Just grabbed A Million Ways to Die in the West, Blackhat, Shaun the Sheep, and Unbroken and got the $10 gift card on all of them (as expected since all of them have already been confirmed). Again the cashier looked at me like I was crazy when I told her about the deal, nobody in the store I went to knew about the deal nor did they have any kind of rack with just Universal titles. Also, I was able to use the gift card from the first title on the next one and so on, chaining the gift cards (which others have also been able to do). However the cashier was a little annoyed with me for making her do that, but oh well.

So I just checked online to see if the titles both staff and I couldn't find in-store today (E.T. and non-gift card The Revenant on sale) were available online, and it says they're available FOR LOCAL PICKUP AT THAT STORE! Gaaaah! You guys HAVE IT or NOT?!?!

A "buddy" of mine who works at a Best Buy told me last week that they had a bunch of movies and signs for the promo and they should be out this past Friday. I checked back and nothing. I went in today and all their movie sections had been changed around, with big gaps with no shelves. And still no Universal promo. Some of the displays have been up for months.

My Best Buy also had changed their entire bluray section today, and had big gaps with no shelves as you described. I wonder what they are up to...

If they are changing all other sections to be like some of the Toronto stores, Best Buy is soon going to be dead to us physical media folks - making the stores look fresh but dropping bluray down to 1 rack is bullshit

Thanks all for the heads up about the Best Buy promo going on, I walked into the store could not see a single display around there dwindling Blu-Ray inventory, Asked a worker and he new nothing about it, was about walk out and boom, finally bump into the picked over display. No more Lucy left at the south store

but I grabbed the following (3) About Time, E.T. and Dallas Buyers Club. scored the $30 gift card and used it on a new release "The Fines Hours" which I was going into the store to buy this week anways.

basically got it for 50cents.

Gonna try the North store and see if they have Lucy and use the $10 gift card towards the Martian-Extended release or 13 Hours.

Circumvented the staff who said "no, we don't have ET or The Revenant in Blu-ray," ordered the items online for pickup in that exact same store, went back to the store, paid $13.99 for ET, received the $10 gift card (after bringing it up...the girl wasn't going to give it to me til I mentioned it) and then applied it to the $14.99 Revenant in a separate transaction. That's after I had to haul my three little kids to the store twice in two days. Best Buy, you are not the Best. My kid is happy she gets to experience ET for the first time, but I spent $10 in gas because of borderline belligerent staff and th magically appearing movies that appear only when reserving for pickup online. Grrrrr.
