Can't wait to get this, but I wonder what they mean by collectible packaging. Two slips again....?

I have either the UK or AU Blu-ray. I can dig this, I guess. Especially since Shout release for the Complete Seasons/Set for G1 cartoon is the best around.
Right?
[Show spoiler]I haven't done much extensive research for their set.

EDIT: I have the UK Blu-ray. It should be listed in my FilmAF.com Collection link.
For extras sure, but that was not the implication I read from that list I quoted

Figures. I just bought the Australian release recently. I should have waited because I knew it was the 30th Anniversary this year. Still, day one purchase for me because I love it so.

I am fine with the UK disc for now unless it does something special

I had thought the UK BD was supposed to be pretty poor, and that Madman's Australian release was superior, but contained little or no extras...
Um who said that?
As you can see, I said it, and then I attempted to delete it before anyone quoted me, because I am always right.

Though, to be fair, I merely switched the UK and Australian releases around in my mind. I doubt the Shout! release will be any worse, and it should easily be the best of the three.

The best one what metric? Extras? Maybe
But PQ? Um I would like to see it beat the UK disc

The U.K. Blu is ok. Star Wars crawl is gone in favour if the US opening. Spike saying " oh shit " and some of the sound effects are off. Primes blaster for starters, it is jarring.

Maybe this Shout release will have the best picture quality, if they don't touch any of the denoise or scrub options on their encoder, and the best bonus features? Cause best of UK and AU releases is what this needs.
Of course what this release needs the most is the Original English 2.0 Cinematic audio track in Lossless. Perhaps the Japanese Cinematic version too.

Original Cinematic Audio Mix > Remix with Different or Added Foley

You know who your talking to right? I am the last person you need to push OG video and audio on over revisionism

And all those extras on a disc, with their encoding and use of DNR, aliasing, odd colour grades?

They are not really the studio with the best quality control, but if they sort they stuff they would be world beaters in many ways

The long out of print UK Blu-ray looked absolutely beautiful as a film transfer.

Don't think I've ever seen this all the way through for some reason, depending on how the reviews for the disc are I may check it out finally.

Last I'd heard, Paramount was sitting on the rights to this. So, I figured seeing a US Blu-ray was just a pipe dream. Or, at the most, we'd get a "30th Anniversary Special Barebones Recycled TV Master Edition".

Between this and everything else, Shout is really making 2016 a year to remember.

I have been watching the Madman disc a lot lately, it is fantastic from a video standpoint.

I will buy this Shout! disc and I hope they do a good job on the audio, but I expect their shitty compression to massacre the Unicron/Lithone scene that finally looked good on the current Blu-rays.

Oh shit, yeah that both/death scene will murder an encoder

Funny...I was just thinking about the overseas blu-ray release of this movie last night.

Glad that Shout has come to the rescue for a good stateside blu-ray release of this 80s animated classic.

I'm passing on any super extra deluxe limited edition though. Just the standard edition will suffice for me in this case.

The official Transformers Facebook page posted an image of what could be the cover for the Blu-ray. I don't like it.

And from twitter a picture of a film canister. Looks like the 35mm IP is being used for this release.

Sweet.

I've wanted to but never picked up any release except the DVD with spike swearing intact.

The uk one had weird cropping and off colors didn't it?

Eh, with this being a Shout Factory release, we should at least expect the original poster art as a reversible cover.

Personally, I'm hoping that means a steelbook, even if it's unlikely.
