Blu-ray vs. DVD Screenshot comparison thread?

I just watched Sunshine last night on my PS3, it was a regular dvd being upscaled and at some points the movie looked horrible. Once you get used to Blu Ray movies dvd's being upscaled just doesn't feel right.

I especially love outdoor shots in Blu. Close-Ups don't really wow me so much, but the shots of cities and whatnot look phenominal!

Here also is the HD DVD version of King Kong (since we know it will be blu soon enough.

I read a review of the shining blu-ray that said the blu-ray version is wider than the SD DVD version. In this link they are the same ratio. So what did they do, just blur the HD version and call it SD? This looks fake.

Does any place have some comparison shots for TV shows? I'd like to point out how stupid people are for still buying TV shows on DVD.

are about scifi móvies? very simple,cause
they are different on HD...but if you like
not for kids movies like Gran torino,No country
for old men.....etc....you can enjoy them fully
on DVD

In fact sometimes having so high res that you
can watch even a strain or a frayed in the clothes
or every pore of the face of an extra is not ver y

hi I'm new here and wondering how you do these and get the hd vs regular blu ray? I have a regular plug and play blu ray player and a blu ray player I also purchased with an hd tv, are these the same things? Sorry so many questions. I'm still learning. Also, how do you take screen caps off the blu ray? With a camera specially or your computer or how?

Even TV shows offer a huge resolution uptick on Blu-ray, Game of Thrones is beautiful on Blu-ray. By the way No Country for Old Men is one of the best earlier examples of the best Blu-ray has to offer.
