Thanks for the info. My Blu is a Samsung, but I don't have the model info. in front of me; I bought this new in late 2012. I'll be able to get to this later today, and will try to post then.

My circumstances are unusual in that I don't have my TV/Blu player connected to the Internet. So, in order to update the firmware I will need to download the info. from my separate computer onto a flash-drive (I think), then load then onto the Blu player. I hesitate to do this, however, since I'm not even sure it will work. I may just end up buying a new Blu player.

The reason I wanted to post this question online is that I don't trust salesmen at b&m stores to have a clue about firmware updates, etc.
