Check your internet Rocky, you hitting POST to many time lol
About Dynamic Vol. I don't use it at all, when I tested it, it goes too low in volume. Lucky me, my wife don't complaint about high volume and neighbors are far from my house. So I crank everything up. ![]() DyEQ=ON DYVol=OFF I added a second sub @ rear opposite corner from sub one and set most off the speakers at 80hz. ![]() Reference level for Movie. Front L\R level for Music. Last edited by Yoe-f30; 06-06-2016 at 06:23 PM. |

But yesterday evening, I watched John Wick (Atmos track) and set my volume at -15dB with Dynamic Volume set to Off and it sounded fine to me. But, I noticed that if I set MultEQ to "Flat" for John Wick I got more clarity from the audio track's sound effects and more distinct punchiness from the bass (such as bullets hitting their targets)! My L/R towers, L/R rears, and center channel are all around 5.5 feet from my sitting position, while my front heights are around 8.5 feet. After I watched John Wick, I got curious and decided to try out Mad Max: Fury Road (Atmos Track) with MultEQ set to "Flat" as well and did not like the sound in comparison to MultEQ set to "Reference", which is my usual setting. I felt that in this case I lost detail and bass where I felt like both were improved with John Wick (when set to Flat as opposed to Reference). I am actually thinking about adding a post-it note with my Blu-rays that have my preferred settings for a particular film when I encounter a difference from my typical settings. That way, when I re-watch it, I already know what to adjust my settings to. Because I have too many films to remember them all. |

I did a brief search, but did not see anything. I just picked up a The Denon 910 upgrading from my old Onkyo 605. I watch a lot of noir and older films with mono tracks, but many are encoded in DTS-HD 2.0 channel mono. With the Onkyo, I had to have the player output PCM, but then I could turn on Prologic and the track would get dropped into the center channel. But with then Denon I cannot find a mode that will do that. There is mono movie mode, but it puts it in the center channel with an echo type sound to the front 2. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

As I grow into this hobby I feel like it is "fun" to experiment and think outside the box. I break the audiophile rules often but again, when I get that new 4K or 3D bluray in Dolby Atmos that I had on pre-order for months, and we gather around to watch it for the first time, with no other distractions or noises, I set Dynamic modes all off and crank volume up to -9dBl ![]() |

I was going to try on mine but as Optical is pretty much the same audio quality as ARC, I didn't try. When I tested, lets say a YouTube video from my TV app using ARC connection the quality really sucks compared to youtube app on my UHD player, that off course goes to Denon first. As both audio are pretty much the same, I went ARC for HDMI device control over optical. Conclusion, I stay away from play any audio from my TV as I can, off course, I'm stuck with cable. I which Samsung could have done one HDMI out for just audio as they did with the UHD player. Last edited by Yoe-f30; 06-13-2016 at 02:06 PM. |

If you want to hear a difference with audio tracks and especially with music, change between a digital(Optical or HDMI) and a analog signal. There are plenty of arguments of which sounds better. Me personally, I love analog for music, and digital for movies. |

TV display On So you tell me why would I want THREE (3) devices running when I can just have TWO (2) devices running with the same result? ![]() |
