Apparently Warner is releasing Sex and the City: The Movie Limited Edition Wedding Collection on 12/09

My sister is a huge fan of this show and I really liked this movie so I wonder why Warner isn't releasing it on blu-ray?? or are they - if anyone has any info on this please post!

Not surprised to already see a double dip. A bit surprised there is no BD announcement.

It makes you want to stop buying Blu-Rays until Christmas time to prevent the Double-Dip.

Atleast I've stopped for the most part with my purchases until Christmas due to the fact of all of these Double-Dips coming out then. Also I'm sure there are plenty of more yet to be announced too.

Yes it's very frustrating especially since it was just released so i'm actually glad i found out - i was just about to buy this on blu-ray.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they release this with the blu-ray discs as well because no matter what it's packaged with I refuse to buy anything on dvd.

General thinking amongst home video companies, Blu-ray = A Guy Thing

There you have it. Warner won't put HD sound on Blu-ray releases, so I'm not surprised by this.

As a female - I'm offended by that remark - I've always been pro technology and movies and I've gotten more people into blu-ray because I loved it so much - even my husband - after showing him blu-ray initially in our house - he said "it's sad when watching a movie in your house is better than going to the theater"
Look what they are doing for the Notebook - very similiar.
I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Warner Brothers put TrueHD soundtrack on their Sex and the City release so I do not know what you are referring to in regards to this thread. Also your comments are extremely sexist.

You are probably talking about the inital release because on dvd alone - this retails for $70 which means the retail will be more in blu-ray format - so you definitely wouldn't see this anywhere for $15 if they decided to release this special edition in blu-ray

I'm sorry that the views expressed in my post were seen as sexist. Please note that these aren't my personal views, I'm only relaying what is happening in the industry. I personally realize that men enjoyed the SATC movie and I know that women endorse Blu-ray. But, what I've stated is how the industry sees things.

And, yes, I know that the SATC BD had Dolby TrueHD sound, but when a company fails to put lossless sound on titles that are crying out for it, such as SPEED RACER and JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, they aren't fully committed to Blu-ray.
