If it's the Spock art that's been announced elsewhere, pass. Plus I'll probably go UHD for this anyway.

It would be a crime if this didn't have the homage art for The Motion Picture on it.

Looks like Amazon will get the exclusive on the USS Franklin ship.

Looks bigger than the Walmart Vengence one.

Pleasantly surprised to see that set include the 4K version and a 3D disc.

3D seems to really be getting skipped left and right now...

I get that the fad never took off and a lot of people don't care – but it always bothers me when they release them in 3D theatrically and then don't offer it with these incentive editions.

Which is why I buy so many movies from Amazon UK, Germany, etc. Granted, I loose the UV copy most of the time, and don't use 3D as much as I used to. But I hate to loose the feature just because somebody doesn't feel I need it.

Not sure you can call 3D a fad after all this time, to me the fact that so many movies are still being released in 3D I'd say its here to stay. Unless you meant at home?

3D with steel always seems to be a crapshoot in North America, not so much outside of it.

Bothers me too, when they don't release steelbooks with 3D for movies released this way theatrically.

I would take either of these two if they were put on the cover of the steelbook

I'm glad they took my advice and picked one of the two covers I wanted!

Also shamelessly putting this out there, in case someone decides they want one.

I am fine either way with any of those covers as long as they don't have that stupid black border around it like what was done for the transformers steelbook. I really should have skipped those.
