It might be more productive to list the Blu-ray releases that list an aspect ratio on the box that is not the one on the disc rather than the original aspect ratio (which in the 35mm days not all that long ago often varied slightly from theatre to theatre even within the same multiplex, depending on the lenses and aperture plates available for each screen).
I can't recall titles off-hand, but there are several Blu-rays that list 1.78 (or 1.85) on the boxcover that are actually 2.35 or 2.4 on the disc, and vice versa. Even more releases specifically state 1.85 or 1.66 on the box when the disc is a full 1.78, but there are also a few that are vice versa. The 1.37 and 1.33 difference is too minimal to bother with, but some say 1.33 (or 1.37) that are really between 1.2 to 1.18, a much more noticeable difference. |
