No PMs to answer and seems like nobody’s bumping posts in the Tech forum every 10 minutes or so. Fabulous, I have a few minutes to hangout.

So, in reviewing my previous post for grammar, spelling errors and such, the bolded word in the above post just synaptically reminded me of a cinematic tie-in…..patience please while I upload an intro pic.

Heavyweights Invited to Explore the Magi Pod

And a special heads-up to Blu-ray.com forum members who are western Massachusetts (home of the 1973 Olympics of Motorcycling , known back then as the ISDT ) locals, without being a ‘Heavyweight’ per se, if you knowingly act fast, you too can get Magi Pod exposed on a different date, namely Sept.3, scroll down -> http://newmarlborough.org/music-more/ )

Hi all,

I would like to purchase some specific 4K Ultra blu ray movie title which have the frame rate of 50p or 25p.

Could anyone help me to confirm and list down which movie title have this requirement?

Thank you in advance.

So far they're all 24 fps as far as I'm aware.

Maybe if and when British TV shows end up on UHD Blu-ray we'll get those frame rates since the studios no longer have to convert frame rates from ATSC/NTSC to PAL frame rates or vice versa, and UHD Blu-ray is region free.

25p and 50p are only mandatory in the UHD spec for PAL territories which use those frame rates, so there's no guarantee that the UHD manufacturers for NTSC territories will include that compatibility. It even says on page 14 of the BD-ROM V3.0 (UHD) white paper that "Not all BD-ROM Players support 25/50Hz video formats".

As a follow-up to post #8268 above, I’ll inform readers that there are already some servers for D-Cinema projection now available which play up to 3D 60fps-4K (with extraction of 2K layer) and 2D 120fps-4K (with extraction of 2K layer).

I have a Samsung 3D smart blu ray player from 2010.

I just upgraded to a LG 1080p OLED 3D TV. And the new Yamaha 5600 Dolby ATMOS / DTS:X soundbar.

1. Has technology improved on blu ray players since 2010?

2. Will I see some improvement on a 1080p TV with a $120 4K upscaling blu ray?

We're talking about true 4k media and gear here, not 4k upscaling players.

You should return the 1080p OLED and save up for a 4k OLED with HDR. You're gaining nothing with a non HDR display without wide color gamut support.

DirecTV picture is fuzzy on 4k TVs, as the upscaling tech is not good. There is NO such thing as 4K channels as most programming are still 720 (espn) or 1080.

There are 4K channels available in the UK via Sky Q and BT Sport, in 2160p.

There are such things as UHD Blu-ray. These 10 bit, wide color gamut, and HDR graded discs are region free and are importable if you don't have much selection where you live.
