Does that mean they're still £3 each?
I haven't had an excuse to go to London in a while but I'd assumed it had ended by now. Will be up again in a couple of weeks...

Yep, they were still 3 quid a pop. Selling fast though. I had a checklist and I was crossing them off as I went. I only have 2 DVDs missing from my TWF collection now. I've ordered these off Amazon.

London was rammed, as per usual. Not very pleasant walking around with that many DVDs

No idea about DVD, but on BD there are few copies of the New Directors from Japan set available (Adam said less than 100 quite a while ago, before the Fopp sale)
Other than that I think Ruined Heart is the only other limited release, which isn't sold out yet, but anything with a slipcover won't be reprinted with one.

Slips are on:

New Directors from Japan
Bullet Ballet
Dolls
Hana-bi (already sold out)
Kikujiro
Lesson of Evil
Ruined Heart
A Snake of June
Tetsuo/Tetsuo 2
Tokyo Fist

I believe that's a complete list, if not I'd like to know as I have all of those!

Ruined Heart is excellent by the way, it's a bit pricier because it comes with the soundtrack which I thought was an odd move until I saw the film, but it totally makes sense. There's very little dialogue but the music is a constant through the film, it's a very unusual film but it really surprised me and I really enjoyed it.

Last edited by Cinematt; 07-29-2016 at 06:07 PM. Reason: added Dolls - thanks rapta

You forgot Dolls in that list! I have the following TWF titles, all with slips:

Tetsuo 1&2
Bullet Ballet
A Snake of June (signed!)
Hana-bi
Kikujiro
Dolls

I might get Tokyo Fist at some point, and interested in Ruined Heart (huge fan of Chris Doyle), and definitely plan on getting A Scene at the Sea and Kids Return when they come out. I'm assuming they are all the ones with slipcovers then?

I'm impressed with myself for missing Dolls, given I was looking at my shelf as I was typing the list!

Kitano titles are the only ones that have a confirmed slip for the rest of the year. There's a non-slip image on the Lowlife Love listing, and no idea on the Toyoda box set yet.

There is now a listing on amazon for a DVD release
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiaki-To...dp/B01J7O3TL6/
Not sure if that's a mistake or if there will be separate releases? No BD listing on amazon at the moment.

So I've just noticed thanks to a thread over in the US forum that Violent Cop and Boiling Point are getting US releases in October. Any hints of the rights being freed up in the UK? Don't think I'll be able to resist them if they're decent releases, but I'd rather not end up double dipping to continue my Third Window collection.

Adam mentioned this on the last page:

And isn't there a [US] company releasing boiling point, violent cop and sonatine? Wouldn't titles of his which noone else are releasing be better for everyone than just a different region version?
So in summary:
1: Getting Any will be next, if we are getting any more Kitano titles from TWF.
2: TWF is less interested in releasing Violent Cop and Boiling Point because they're already being released in the US.
3: The UK rights for Sonatine aren't working out well for TWF. He's mentioned the US company releasing Sonatine, but the US company (Film Movement) unless he knows something we don't(?), has only announced VC and BP.

Anyways, I'd support the 2 US releases as maybe then we will get Sonatine from them, and it sounds like Third Window probably won't be releasing any of those 3.

Thanks for that, not sure how I managed to forget that info so quickly, might have had something to do with the beers I had last night...

Fingers crossed the US releases are up to snuff then.

I've got all of those with slips except for Lesson of Evil, Ruined Heart and Tokyo Fist. The latter two I can still find with slips which is ace, but Lesson of Evil is going to be a lot harder... That said, the film itself is more important, so if I don't get it, it's no great shakes.

The next run of toky fist units which was just replicated is without slips so better try to get that first. Ruined heart ok for a while. Lesson of evil i think went out a while back

Retail price is £29.99 so quite a deal to pre-order at that price. Only 2000 to be made and a 3 disc digipack with loads of extras!
