Yeah, I didn't like the first one, lasted 15 minutes of the 2nd one and never bothered with the 3rd.

It continues Ash's story plus it has lots skeletons and deadites killing people. It is definitely more in the comedy area, but in the end it is from horror roots. Personally horror/comedy is my favorite sub genre. Movies like AOD, Cabin In The Woods, Tucker and Dale are all endlessly rewatchable.

Agreed. The first one is ok and has nice atmosphere but not enough to make me watch the 2nd film. You already know my thoughts on the 3rd film. Got Em!!

Yea but Cabin in the Woods is a real horror film first. It might have comedy elements but its a great horror film. Big difference. I wouldnt put AOD and TCITW in the same boat. Got Em!!

I dont like many comedy/horror films. I do like some horror/comedy films though that has a better balance of horror with the right amount of comedy like Feast or Hatchet. Those are great horror/comedy films to me. Got Em!!

But you haven't seen AOD so it is hard to comment on how different they are. To me horror comedy is horror comedy. I don't have different degrees of horror comedy. Tucker and Dale, Cabin In The Woods, AOD, Shaun Of The Dead, Feast are all in the exact same category for me. It's silly to have sub categories of sub categories imo.

I have seen clips here and there and it seems like a silly comedy with horror parody. Its more comparable to Zombieland which is a comedy/horror zombie parody. I know horror/comedy is a sub genre but I dont put them all in the same boat. Some focus mainly on comedy while others focus more on horror with comedy elements. Big difference to me. Got Em!!
