I hope the deleted scenes are substantial this time. There was a whole part where Leia, early on in the film, attempts to persuade the Republic to let her use the army. It involved the planet destroyed by the Starkiller Base. That scene is where we learn why Leia is leading "The Resistance" when she's on the side of the main power in the Galaxy.

Disney aren't supporting the 4K platform yet. Traditionally they've been known to be one of the last on the market - waiting to see how well the platform goes first.

But, you bet your ass, when they jump on the bandwagon, they'll be using this as one of their first tent-pole releases... probably alongside something like Captain America: Civil War and maybe an animated title like Beauty and the Beast

Well, it explicitly announced as coming later this year with the announcement for the 2D.

Yes, has all previous special features too.

Glad I held out, well it wasn't hard as I thought the movie was pretty average however it has some good visuals and I thought the 3D was really nice. I'm pleased that Disney/ Lucasfilm have provided a 3D blu though, rather than just streaming as I feared it might be.

Yeah I held out and did not pick it up. I enjoyed the film it felt more like old school Star Wars then the prequels which I am not a huge fan of. I like the look of the packaging. Looking forward to 31st of October.

Surprise, surprise. The interweb craps it's pants at this announcement.

It was announced months ago, along with the announcement for the current release.

Oh, it looks great. Much better than expected. Ordered

I wonder if it will include the exact same 2D BD as released in April or if it will be re-authored to include the commentary?

If you can only listen to the audio commentary with the 3D then that's BS. But of course I'll shut my mouth and buy it all over again.

Oh.. and STILL no trailers?! Like, the one film that had such historic trailers, and they never want to include them.

Disney/Lucasfilm said to expect a 3D Blu-ray edition late in 2016, but other than that there was no details of exactly when or what would be included.

They actually said a 3D 'version' so a lot of us 3D fans feared a streaming only release. So glad it's finally been confirmed as a 3D blu though.

Not me! I'm happy with my 2D version, which I will watch on my bog standard 2.0 system, i.e. my TV and hi-fi! I have four bassy speakers though for quality rumblings!

The fact that it was part of the original BD announcement implied it would be on BD... well, it did to me

Considering Disney's recent track record with 3D in the States I don't blame US 3D fans for being very sceptical until it was specifically confirmed.
